currently using i7-4770k at 4.4ghz with 1.28v offset +0.02v
using msi-z87 g43
cant get any higher speed without crashing with intel burn test

so if i got a bad processor, what can i do?

my friend got 4.6ghz easily on 1.32v but i cant
i even jump to 1.45v, still no luck on 4.6ghz

You should know that all chips perform differently, right? Furthermore, not only the proc, but mobo, RAM etc etc all affect the ability to OC. And then there are also temperatures to take note of

Some got lucky with 1.25v @ 4.6GHz. They say there's a bell graph where small percent of the best and the bad were released into the market while most the the chips are average performer, for this Haswell and heck for every model. Now don't think that the bad chip is bad but they won't overclock well. Come to think about it, overclocking void the warranty unless you get it covered with http://www.intel.com/go/tuningplan

What cooling are you using?
as i know 47k scale well with lowering temperature... Especially during loading spikes
vcore not so sensitive, sometimes reduce will help

Haswell ocbility differ from chip to chip, sometimes d diff is small but sometimes it's huge. tested 2 chips before, 1 managed a 4.5GHz with 1.19v, another hit 4.2GHz only with almost same voltage. could be temp limitin ya mileage thou, 120v is definitely not a top notch cooler. smile.gif

tq,
after reading the motherboard manual, i've got to overclock to 4.5ghz (finally!! rclxms.gif )
but the voltage have to configure high, so temp r quite dangerous

TS if don't mind right, can spend that RM150 for SP120 or other better fans. Before this using that same cooler as u with SP120 push/pull config, can say really sastified with it. smile.gif
