I intend to build a brick wall (about 20ft long x 8ft height) beside the fence.
this is to get some privacy from neighbors.

A rough budget price used by quantity surveyors around KL when determining the value of work completed is RM25/sqft for std brick wall.
you have 160sgft so a good starting point would be 160 x rm25 = Rm4,000 so +/- need to occur to take account of footings rqd and size of job. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised if you get quotes in the range RM3.6k-rm5k. Cheers |

My current contractor quoted me RM250 pfr for a normal(no pocket/opening) or install decorative stones) brick wall of standard height up to 6 feet..this includes materials, labour and the concrete foundation..so bro Sydney's rough estimation will be quite close |

Check if it is legal to have 8' wall. I read somewhere in this forum that there are some regulations as to height of fencing.

I'm currently some reno including a wall. From my observatikns, do Ask your contractor;
1. Footing (base or foundation) 2. Pillar (gap) 3. Wire mesh between brick layers 4. Plastering thickness 5. Brick (red, grey, hollow etc) Not all walls are buit the same! |

RM250 pfr for 6ft high wall.
Meaning RM250/6' = RM41.67/ft2. |

6ft may not pass, most are 5ft. You may want to confirm with the local council, and last time I was told you need some visibility too hence you see the fencing have some opening.
If illegal height your neighbor can report and you need to demolish it. |
