Yah, this is one thing I dun like about hotlink, previously stated "unlimited with 64kbps" now capped with 500MB. They can just change the TnC whenever they want. Screw you Maxis Hotlink!

QUOTE(AlissaIU @ Sep 9 2015, 09:20 AM) huh? which mean the free internet are no more unlimited but capped 500mb??? btw, how to check the status? I just change plan to #hotlink last year around June and it was ok with the low speed internet since still able to receive whatsapp, wechat, messenger etc. But yesterday out of sudden, it send me a SMS stated I used up 100% of my free social chat quote. I was like WTF is this?! *100*2*1# to check quota but no detail to see, just summary like "100% is used" For conversion to #hotlink, will charge RM5, but will get back RM5 after download Hotlink Apps "RED", dunno if still valid nowadays |

QUOTE(RDoe @ Sep 9 2015, 10:16 AM) Subscribe now and top up RM30/month, for the next 6 months, to enjoy 500MB FREE. It's never too late to enjoy these OHHSOME freebies when you're on Hotlink. OHHSOME my foot! Maxis hotlink never fails to disappoint customer. Previously everything is ok until their recent change to 500MB X 6 policy. Promo period: 10 July 2015 – 30 September 2015 https://www.hotlink.com.my/content/hotlink/...e-internet.html The "Always On Internet" or "Free Basic Internet" is at 64kbps. The "Free 3GB" is high-speed Internet split into 500MB x 6 months. You've to top up at least RM30/month in order to get the *FREE 500MB pass is valid for 7 days. . The part under "HERE'S HOW" in the link given tells you how to do it. Can read the FAQ as well. And the BEST of the BEST part is that they actually REMOVE the quota info from the RED apps, trying to hide something? |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Sep 9 2015, 12:19 PM) if you read their t&c update on end july 2015, you can see this new added line: Mind to share the link? Coz I can't seems to find this clause on the TnC. N bloody hotlink always like to change / add-in new TnC. Effective 23rd July, all customers are subject to a monthly Fair Usage Policy of 500MB on FREE basic Internet. Upon exhaustion of the maximum quota, Basic Internet services will be disconnected. From reward point collection through this Free Basic Internet, Hotlink never fails to disappoint me, good job Maxis Hotlink |

QUOTE(RDoe @ Sep 9 2015, 01:05 PM) Being competitive in business doesn't have to mean only meeting your expectation, the free basic internet, in this case. There are other things involved that they would have adjusted as well, which others will only notice especially when those are exactly what impact them. Agree with ur points, however I still dun see the move from 3gb to 500mb consider a competitive move. And I wonder what would happen after the 6 X 500mb ended. You might want to widen your view and see what other telcos have to offer, to understand what's going on. Then maybe from there decide if you'll be happier if you port to another telco. Just a suggestion. QUOTE(RDoe @ Sep 9 2015, 01:08 PM) https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/support/terms...conditions.html Thank you for the link. Point 3 under the FREE Basic Internet (Free Social Chat) heading. |

Kinda confuse with "500MB for 7 days validity". Does it mean 500MB @full speed for 7 days or 500MB @64kbps for 7 days? What happen after the 7 days?

QUOTE(RDoe @ Sep 9 2015, 11:59 PM) FREE 3GB High Speed Internet (500MB x 6 months) is a promotion (Promo period: 10 July 2015 – 30 September 2015) for newly-activated #Hotlink accounts, a separate thing from the Free Basic Internet @64kbps (aka Always On Internet on their website) that's been around for quite a while. Thank you for answering my question patiently https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/free-internet.html - for more information *FREE 500MB pass is valid for 7 days. So life goes on after the 7 days, until the next month when you qualify again. If you want to use data in the meantime, you can either revert back to using the basic internet or subscribe to a mobile internet package to surf at high speed. As I convert to #hotlink plan last year, means that i'm not entitled to this 500MB high speed right? But what happen to my existing Free Basic Internet @64kbps? I think hotlink capped it to 500MB from the previous 3GB. |

QUOTE(RDoe @ Sep 10 2015, 11:09 AM) From what I can see, the promotion seems to be only for newly-registered #Hotlink accounts. You might want to contact Maxis to confirm on this. Arghhh, just saw the Hotlink subforum, found the answer there too. Anyway thank you bro for your patient I don't think there's any changes to the qualification for the Free Basic Internet except for the 500MB cap. This, I believe, is the selling point of the #Hotlink plan, so it should be there so long as you qualify to use it. If you somehow can't access/use, maybe check with Maxis? |
