One more question. The upgrade fee to #hotlink is rm5. So my concern is, will this package charge me every month after I upgrade to #hotlink ?
*
The RM5 upgrade fee is just a one-time charge for changing your plans, not a monthly one.

I have already activated the #hotlink through *100# but I did not receive the free 3gb internet? Maybe is because of the starter pack?

Subscribe now and top up RM30/month, for the next 6 months, to enjoy 500MB FREE. It's never too late to enjoy these OHHSOME freebies when you're on Hotlink.

Promo period: 10 July 2015 – 30 September 2015

https://www.hotlink.com.my/content/hotlink/...e-internet.html

The "Always On Internet" or "Free Basic Internet" is at 64kbps.

The "Free 3GB" is high-speed Internet split into 500MB x 6 months. You've to top up at least RM30/month in order to get the *FREE 500MB pass is valid for 7 days. . The part under "HERE'S HOW" in the link given tells you how to do it.

Can read the FAQ as well.

they are getting stingy nowadays. No wonder, jz now when I check at *100*2*1# nothing to show because ytd only I upgraded to #hotlink.

Btw, any benefits of the RED apps?  hmm.gif
*
With the Hotlink RED App installed, it'll be easier to do many things that you'll normally do through the *....# code/s.

With the Hotlink RED App, top-up instantly, check your balance anytime,
load up your mobile data, get access to the hottest events and more!

After #Hotlink, the other telcos have also come up with free Internet over the last few months, Celcom Magic SIM, Digi Smart Prepaid, and then U Mobile Power Prepaid. Guess Maxis had to make adjustments to remain competitive.

My suggestion is to check the respective telco's website for the latest information before changing plans.

Reducing basic internet to 500mb/month is not actually competitive move
*
Being competitive in business doesn't have to mean only meeting your expectation, the free basic internet, in this case. There are other things involved that they would have adjusted as well, which others will only notice especially when those are exactly what impact them.

You might want to widen your view and see what other telcos have to offer, to understand what's going on. Then maybe from there decide if you'll be happier if you port to another telco.

Just a suggestion. smile.gif

Agree with ur points, however I still dun see the move from 3gb to 500mb consider a competitive move. And I wonder what would happen after the 6 X 500mb ended. hmm.gif
Thank you for the link. thumbup.gif

Was the "Free Basic Internet @64kbps" 3GB before? I've no idea about this as I don't use it.

The 6 x 500MB is (separate) "High-Speed Internet", a promotion:

https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/free-internet.html - the link for more information.

Activate #Hotlink Starter Pack Now To Enjoy:
FREE RM5 Pre-loaded airtime
FREE 3GB High Speed Internet (500MB x 6 months)
FREE Social Chat
Always On Internet
10x faster internet on 4G LTE

So once 6 x 500MB ends, I guess you can either continue using the the basic Internet or subscribe to one of the mobile Internet packages.

Kinda confuse with "500MB for 7 days validity". Does it mean 500MB @full speed for 7 days or 500MB @64kbps for 7 days? What happen after the 7 days?
*
FREE 3GB High Speed Internet (500MB x 6 months) is a promotion (Promo period: 10 July 2015 – 30 September 2015) for newly-activated #Hotlink accounts, a separate thing from the Free Basic Internet @64kbps (aka Always On Internet on their website) that's been around for quite a while.

https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/free-internet.html - for more information

*FREE 500MB pass is valid for 7 days. So life goes on after the 7 days, until the next month when you qualify again. If you want to use data in the meantime, you can either revert back to using the basic internet or subscribe to a mobile internet package to surf at high speed.

Thank you for answering my question patiently notworthy.gif
As I convert to #hotlink plan last year, means that i'm not entitled to this 500MB high speed right? But what happen to my existing Free Basic Internet @64kbps?
I think hotlink capped it to 500MB from the previous 3GB.
*
From what I can see, the promotion seems to be only for newly-registered #Hotlink accounts. You might want to contact Maxis to confirm on this.

I don't think there's any changes to the qualification for the Free Basic Internet except for the 500MB cap. This, I believe, is the selling point of the #Hotlink plan, so it should be there so long as you qualify to use it. If you somehow can't access/use, maybe check with Maxis?

This is the 4th day im using #hotlink. It's fine to receive message like watsapp & wechat but the problem is when I launching game apps, it is not even loaded. So I wonder is the free basic internet only apply in social apps?
*
Free Basic Internet allows other uses than just social chat/apps. But at 64 kbps, I'd say it depends on the games you want to play.
