kyrmian, after encounter through some pictures of the Keycool 87II on the net, I start wondering if the one you get is gen II or gen I. Cause so far I see those spacebar on gen II, it indeed looks like compatible with other brands. Hope you can clarify and double confirm with us the answer. Cause if the keycool 87II is indeed having a standard spacebar, then it had a great potential to be recommended and should slot in nicely in the gaps between Shine3 and Shine Zero. Thx.

Because they originally using the Leopold standard, and later adopt to normal standard. Hence their spacebar it made such way to be compatible with both.

The problem now is whether the spacing on the Keycool 87II is compatible with normal standard spacebar or not.

May be one day I should buy a spacebar that is specially made for the Keycool backlit to verify this myself once and for all, LOL.

That's why I suggest that the spacebar spacing on keycool gen 2 is standard.

Take a look at the the spacing, the left stem is located around the mid of "x" and "c" key (the picture wrongly installed the "c" and "v"...).

While the right stem is located a little over the "m".

The keycool gen2 and my F-104 is also quite similar (except that they do it the ONI style, 1mm different, then I dono liao...).

Currently, wireless mech kb got 2 major types, one is Bluetooth and another is 2.4ghz wireless with dongle type.

The bluetooth one is pretty much dominated by taiwan boards (filco, zippy, minila kbt pro and so on). While the usb wireless type is dominated by chinaboards (particularly plum made boards).

Yar, so now I think the best way is by buying a spacebar of keycool gen2 and measure the stem spacing.

Plum morphling 87, if want better act fast, cause nearly EOLed liao.

My new theory proposed that the one abang kyrmian got actually is gen1, so YAHOOO, keycool backlit II officially back to the top recommendation list for backlit keyboard.    

p/s1: Or may be wait until I get a keycool backlit spacebar for verification first better... Who know later ONI's problem popped out again...

p/s2: So far only tWice got misleaded, right? but at least, he is getting a Ducky shine 3, which should be even better.

He came to this thread after abang kyrmian suggest that his keycool backlit (confirmed to be gen 1) is using non standard spacebar.

So we all had assumed it to be so and avoid suggesting keycool 87II (gen 2) since then.

I personally tested. I tried four spacebars on ONI they seems no issues.

bro, what happened? Did you try to put in some other space bar? Maybe your other space bar is rotten, not your ONI? Sorry, please share you sob-story..

how many spacebars you tried ?
when I tried them, i try to press very hard and they went it.
after when it there is no problem with normal typing though.
I cant guarantee 100%.
But it is not really a major problem. While I still can fit in others.
Just that not very smooth.

OMG its so hard to take out keycaps from costar stabs....
