Teak furniture are very hardy, can last you a life time and will also give you plenty of bruises too laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Try Anteak Furniture. They're a wholesaler and the boss is a nice elderly uncle. Quite a variety on display but look through their catalogue because there's a whole lot more.

Teak is a very good wood but Teak also can be very deceiving. So I wish you good hunting for genuine teak wood.

Would you be interested in sharing container with me? I am planning to buy from Indonesia and will be ordering dining table, entertainment stand and hallway cabinet. My preference is on reclaimed wood. PM me if interested.

check out teakita they have nice furniture collections, but their main business is to make custom design furniture. so if you have design on magazine or google u can make with them. they wont charge extra for custom design, same price as stock items.

Try at http://caldwells.com/, this is a furniture store and specialized in cabinet and doors right from the spot of back doors bay area shop in Bay Area, San Francisco. I got most of my furnishings from them and are really cheap and reliable.

i also look for some teak furniture, so far have visited teakita (shah alam), authenteak (PJ), jatimas (selayang) and casateak (puchong), there's another one Heritage in section 16 PJ but this shop is the most expensive of all, i havent had the 'courage' to go there yet.

So far the teakita and casateak pricing are within my budget, but teakita's overall design is a bit more conservative to my taste and casateak is more modern, both also can do customized furniture and import from Indonesia. As for authenteak, their design are the most modern and of course, they are more pricey too. Jatimas used to have many nice furniture and i bought quite a few pieces from them years ago, but now left with a semi-warehouse type building in selayang. But if you don't mind the a bit dirty & old looking furniture, you might be able to get some good bargain at jatimas.

Indonesia now has world's highest deforestation rate. Malaysia too.

Eco friendly please. No point in getting solid wood which nowadays got solution in using solid fibre wood or veneer furniture. Choose good quality, don't use those compressed wood or particle board type. Please protect the future. Thank you.

Kelly 30 (formerly Jati King) way after the seafood restaurants along old terminal three, Subang. Next to Lam Hoi (South Sea) restaurant Bought my dining round table and 10 chairs there 7 years ago for less then 5k. Teak mainly from Indonesia. At that time, their prices were one half or one third of any of the above. Don't know if they are still there or if prices are on par.

Update: there's another one called Chah King Yong Jati as down here. Don't know if they could be the same or another.

Try visit this furniture shop in California, ( http://caldwells.com/door-shop ) that is their site.. you can find old, second hand and overstock furniture and home improvement materials. Cheap yet reliable and unique, better than getting new.

Hi all,

I have seen teak furnitures vs oak. Macy in Mutiara Damansara has solid oak, oak seems cheaper? Both hard wood, what is the difference?

Teak is water resistant , termite free, solid wood, wood has grains while as oak is opposite , Not water resistant, can have termites, not solid as teak wood is just plain and no grains .
