Sounds very interesting, a lot of PvE content (not sure about PvP side).
Seems to have a lot for exploration, not just in terms of map, but stuff like breeding/crafting.


Perhaps you are let-down by the PvP side, and mainly focus on combat?
Do share, I am thinking about buying the pre-order for NA, would be great if I can hear some of the bad sides about it for due consideration

My download almost completes.

Just curious, which class fits the following description?
- Economy (no need super expensive gear to be viable in PvE and PvP, maybe can save a lot of mana/hp pot during grind/leveling)
- Can hold itself in PK, and small-scale PvP (meaning not at the bottom of PK/PvP food-chain, not an easy target which just makes ppl wants to kill, because they easily can).
- Useful in GvG (useful = ppl will want/need you to be there, but not necessarily good at killing, of course if also good at killing would be great :3 )
- Not too squishy (like, easily killed by any other class in 2-3 hits, or lack to mobility to get-away)
- Not very group-dependent (because playing in JP server could mean that possibility of solo-ing is high, other MY/SG ppl already high level).
- Preferably ranged, but this is not a requirement, it can be a mainly melee class but with useful ranged skills to get-away or chase or kill.

Any important tips/hint I should know before I start my BDO journey in JP server?

Hey guys, started in JP Server Media since yesterday.
I think I'll stay in JP server instead of NA for 2 main reasons:
1) Lower Ping
2) Learning japanese

Characters:
Ranger 月矢
Valkyrie 守姫

I looked through almost every class, and I think I like the skills of the following classes:
- Ranger
- Valkyrie
- Plum/Blader (undecided which one yet...)
- Ninja/Kunoichi (undecided which one yet, there's some differences...Kunoichi seems can defend!! Not sure how nice is that.)

Eventually I would want to have all of them, since I have 4 characters slot.
But I would like to know which one I should level first.
So, can you guys help me rank (Good, Neutral, Bad) these classes in terms of end-game activities?
1) PvE Solo
2) PvE Raid
3) GvG or Castle Siege

I must say, this is the first MMORPG where, after I spent like 10 hours online, and I am still level 5

The english translation is ...I cannot tahan... so I turned it off and rely on my very low JP proficiency and Google translate. This game really feels more lively than most other MMORPG, many NPCs and activities, almost like playing vanilla Skyrim online, with the vast land to explore. The graphics are real good...I like that when it rains my character looks wet.

I spoke to every single NPC in the first village (Albia?), even played the flute mini-game, and the rented the gun from NPC in the first outpost (West Camp) after Albia, to shoot at birds flying in the sky.
Followed some question mark to a Stone Crab...quite an interesting monster...
The actions are near Vindictus level, less smooth though due to Ping.
I can see that there's many non-combat activities ahead, where lag shouldn't cause problem.

Overall, really enjoyed it thus far, and I am only level 13 after like 12 hours of play-time, haha.


Several questions:
1) Due to lag, I think I will avoid melee classes...so that left me with only Ranger.
I considered carefully about melee classes...probably Valkyrie is the only viable one when we have lag problem, because lag will kill those classes relying on high dodge (need to time it well)...but Valkyrie's block (always there until gauge broke) shouldn't be affected much by lag.
What you guys think? Is there anyone playing melee classes from MY/SG, and still feel that it's manageable at end-game?

2) I am currently using OpenVPN, any particularly fast/stable VPN server to recommend? Or, do you guys use WTF or BattlePing as well?

3) Also, how do you guys deal with inventory space? It's so low I am already running out of space at lv13!
How do I know which item can be sold, and which item to keep?

Hey guys, what would you guys recommend to spend Pearl on, assuming I have 2120 pearls, for the best value?

Here's some brief description about my playstyle:
Currently playing on JP Media server, lv22 after like 9 days (lol), doing a lot of PvE/crafting/fishing/learning-the-ropes, not rushing to high level, or rushing for "end-game". I am more of the enjoy-the-journey type.

Right now mainly playing solo, as I am still learning the game, won't want to slowdown any other people.
But I totally won't shy away from group activities and PvP, definitely planning on doing group-PvP (raid/siege) in the long term future, I was a big fan of Shadowbane (if anyone still remember...).

Spending most of my time on Ranger right now, but still undecided between Ranger vs Valkyrie as my main...

I don't mind spending time and energy to slowly achieve something (instead of instant-gratification), and tend to avoid dealing with RNG, if possible. Anything to minimize/remove the nasty RNG element, I would consider worthy, because it saves both time and resources.

Right now, I plan to buy myself the following items:
1) An inner armor which +1 luck, to help with RNG.
2) A 500 pearls aesthetic outfit (well, can't avoid looking at those pixels anyway, might as well make it adorable).
3) A spectacle/head-accessory which +10M sight range (love sight-seeing and exploration).
4) Going to maximize my character slots.

That's all I could think of right now...I am still newbie, not sure what's wise to get, like:
1) Should I get a pet? If so, which one would you recommend, utility-wise?
2) Any furniture/horse/boat/whatever only obtainable via Pearl, and is highly regarded in utility?

Example, there's a red-ish fish costume which can make you swim faster and increase fishing skill+speed, worth it?

How do I tell if an item can be sold on AH or not?

I want alts to try out all the classes, and also to have more energy to spend, plus I hear alts are great "batteries" for enchanting.

I added you as friend already, I don't really understand the guild system and the game itself yet, so I would rather not dragging down anybody.
Guild has max limit on number of member, right? I think the member slot spent on me is better used by someone else who is more familiar with the game and can join guild activities.
Wait till maybe I am lv 50

Just bought the whole set of outfit with weapon...gosh I didn't know there are some stats, and they are pretty good but not game-breaking, like:
- reduce durability speed
- increase sight range
- +exp from monster
- increase relationship gain (does this mean with NPC or what?)
- increase character height (...)
- +stamina
- +luck

Damn, I didn't know, and it wasn't stated in the cash shop...are these stats fixed? or randomly obtained when you bought the item?
If fixed, which costume sets provide the best stats?

Ahh...now I see it...luckily the one I bought is still one of the better set.

For those using MUDFish right now, just wish to know how's the user experience?

I am mainly concerned about:
1) Ping. What ping you are getting?
2) Packet loss. Do you experience things like, clicked but no response, pressed but no skill comes out, or lag spikes? These are all indication of packet loss.
3) Availability and stability. Does the server disconnect/restart often? I would hate if it disconnects in mid-fight which I spent scroll...

Initially I made my character with "shiny" slider at 0.
But it looks so...dry, so painful, like skin exposed to dry winter.
When there's only little lightsource, such as in house, the texture looks dry and plain like a piece of paper, not skin.

So, I deleted it and moved it to 50, I too felt that it's abit overkilled, but I couldn't bother with remaking character another time due to the cooldown and I am already out of character slot, so...I guess she'll have to stay like that until I purchase the Premium when she reached higher levels.


BTW, I see from your posts that you are currently using MUDFish, care to share a bit of user-experience with me by the questions in my previous post? I am seriously considering it.

The first URL is good, but it's a bit outdated in the menu screenshot, I remember there's one additional step in the middle, and the buttons location were changed (the same captions though). I went through the process 2 weeks ago, can't remember all the details now.
It helps tremendously if you understand a bit of japanese.


As for the 2nd one:
Just go to the OpenVPN website, download and install.
Next, google "VPNGate", get any japanese server (usually the 1st one is good enough), download the OpenVPN config file, put into C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\Config.
Once you did that, launch OpenVPN, right-click on the OpenVPN icon in your windows tray, you will see the config listed there. Click "Connect", and you can now open the black desert official website, login with facebook, etc.

Nope, I didn't buy that. I deleted my first character and remade a new one. There's cooldown before a character is deleted, so while waiting, I had to use other slots. But I have 1 ranger and 1 valkyrie, after deleting that ranger, I only have 1 slot left, and can't create anymore (default is 3 slots), so I didn't bother recreate, that's why my current character is still at "shininess" 50.

I will eventually buy Premium, which grants 30 days of free-cosmetic changes for ALL characters (plus increase exp, etc etc) once I reach lv50 and know what I am doing, to spend that 30 days well.

I just visited the website, but don't see that $3 for 27GB offer, may I know which link you follow to get that?
They do accept credit card payment regardless of issuing country, right?
