Hey bro. thanks for the suggestion

Hmm if I would like to ask, is my CPU still enough?
I had in mind where I want to go for

CPU : i5 4440 -RM569

Mobo : Asrock H81M -RM179

GPU :Zotac/Leadtek GTX760 -RM799

Chassis : NZXT H23 -RM235

Optical drive : Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59

Dell U2312HM 23" Monitor - RM629
Or the CPU and mobo are fine? (in my case)

But the cost is 2.5k. About same price if i want to build a new ones. I guess.

I do not think it's worth it to move from i5 2300 (Sandy Bridge) to i5 4440 (Haswell). The gaming performance increment going up to Haswell is very minimal only, as Sandy Bridge is still holding on strong. Haswell's power consumption is slightly better though. nod.gif So, the choice is still entirely up to you.

If budget allows, why not? brows.gif Noticed that you already have 2 x 2GB (is it DDR3?), if so you can just add on another 4GB stick.

Go for 2x4gb? or 1x8gb?

Optical drive : Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59

A single stick would do. For your case, can just add another 4GB Value RAM would do. biggrin.gif

It's kinda over the budget since you wanted an SSD.
If you take the SSD out,you can get a Leadtek GTX760 2GB DDR5 OC rm949 if you wish to.  smile.gif

Looking at Asrock website, the mobo doesn't have Wifi.Of course it has USB,but no bluetooth.Wifi and bluetooth normally comes in smaller mobo like mITX. nod.gif

You need a lot of hardware to be able to benchmark it first. tongue.gif Last time I managed to compared a Q8400 quad core paired with a GTX 460, which I noticed is nicely paired together. Moving a notch to GTX 560 Ti already start to have some bottleneck. So today's Pentium G3220 is roughly on par with the old Q8400 quad core, so it should pair nicely with a HD 7770 / 7790 / GTX 650 Ti (roughly on par with GTX 460).
*
Wahh, so today's Pentium is on par with quad core q8400? Quite impressive..
So that's how technology evolves for several years, so what to compared if just having haswell core i5 4430? laugh.gif

Yes indeed. Those dual core Pentiums are pretty solid performers, considering it is very cheap. LOL, nothing in Intel's previous gen (LGA775) can compare with the latest core i5. laugh.gif

what is your mobo size? Actually, based on my little experience helping four friends build their pcs, casing are a little bit subjective. Casing with a side fan blowing out might help the airflow out from your GPU. Want to try CM Storm Scout 2? Just around RM300. Also quite a looker.

Hey guys, I need a suggestion for an upgrade to my pc below. As you guys can see the spec is pretty much outdated. I'm using it for gaming only and it's handling a 24" screen. I just want to upgrade the processor, ram and motherboard, budget <1k if possible if 1k+ give me a good reason why should I add a little bit more for that.

Extra information on my current hardware

Q8400 2.4 OC @ 3.0Ghz (NOT REUSING)
4GB DDR2 (NOT REUSING)
Asus P5KPL/EPU G31 (NOT REUSING)
Asus 7850 OC (REUSING)
2x HDD (REUSING)
1x DVD Drive (REUSING)
Tagan 700watt (REUSING)
Thermaltake Dokker casing (REUSING)

I think that should be sufficient?
