Thanks for the tip ^^, and planning to have 3d display hehe planning to spend my bonus + salary for my future rig lol my blood thirsty mind and body in playing games are already kinda hyper this past few days..so hard to sleep lah... lol!
*
Haha no worries.

And for 3D displays just be careful because you need to spend on 3D content + 3D capable GPU (which your 290 will do fine) + 3D capable monitor + 3D glass + 3D signal transmitter, like human10 said. Just go through the tips and recommendations for the last two to three pages before this and you'll be fine.

Hahaha yeah I understand, we all get excited. Good luck building your new rig bro. And post pics here when you're done. biggrin.gif

I noticed almost all monitors including dell u2312 is 1920x1080 @ 60Hz... where can i see monitors with 1080p @ around 100+ Hz???
*
LOL dude the ASUS VG248QE I mentioned earlier is 1080p at 144Hz. But it's non 3D. And yeah, like Human10 said most 3D monitors by default are around 120Hz. If you want 3D, check out the ASUS VG236H. 23 inch and 3D ready. Perfect for you

Uuugh, just found out that Cooler Master V1000 is practically sold out officially.
Apparently the CM guy even stated this issue is occurring "all over asia". The only way to get it now is from parallel importers who still retain stocks. Guess I gotta wait till February at least. T.T

I saw one in Viewnet just now (ytd noon)?

Though, the price is listed at RM669 instead of the 649 I saw last time... sweat.gif
*
EVERYTHING is increasing. Bloody hell my RAM, Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1866MHz CL9 is now going for RM920. Bought it for 730 like two weeks ago and I'm already complaining. =_____=

As for V1000, yeah there is price change and all but the Tech Armory guy told me that everywhere is just sold out. Will call Viewnet and ask.

Uh guys, fair bit of warning here. RAM and Hard Disk Drive prices have gone up SIGNIFICANTLY. Both have increases of up to RM100 or worse for higher end models, especially RAM. WD Red 1TB is waaaaaay past the RM300 mark and in some cases up to RM380. T.T

Edit: Not sure about Seagate though. Still checking it out.

cry.gif That is bad...i can't see the RAM prices dropping to a extremely low price like early last year...
WD Red 1TB some at RM380?! o.o This is extremely bad! cry.gif
*
Why do you think All IT, Viewnet and a lot if retailers conveniently do not have stock of certain models? Hahahah. But exactly how much it's not 100% confirm yet though. These are just initial figures. But what I can say is that memory based products will increase in price. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

I can confirm Corsair memory shot up like crazy. rclxub.gif

But consumers will probably go for DDR4 in the future... it's like from gt60 to gtx680 to gtx780 to 780ti... right? Playstation 2 --> 3 --> 4 just like that... well ps 2 and 3 didn't hiked prices when the latest model comes up... The new item should be the one who have a significantly high priced...
*
Nope. Like EarendurFefalas said, scarcity drives it's prices up. Unlike Graphics where they keep on producing generation after generation every year or two, DDR3 has been around for a long time with most of the world using it, albiet with some even using DDR2 or DDR standard. So a reduction/stoppage in production will have massive effects.

Plus the fact DDR4 will be more expensive, so people will still go back to DDR3. So a price increase is also to capitalise on that and earn more profit, despite how revolting that sounds.

As for your GPU example, the GTX780Ti is a highly priced enthusiasts graphics cards. Probably less than 10000 users worldwide. RAM users number in the MILLIONS. Even if the 680/780 has price drops not a lot of people by them. Demand for RAM and demand for higher end GPUs cannot be compared.

EDIT: Nope, you can't delete posts.

Price cartels. Manipulation. And moving on to DDR4 soon. Or I suspect lah.

As for HDDs and SSDs, they claim it's the US Dollar. rclxub.gif

*
Not really. If you're gonna get Value RAM you only have to top off a bit more. It's only when you get enthusiast RAM like Corsair the your wallet will really bleed from the price increase. Sticking to 8GB also help, since it's all you need anyways.

I'm looking for other store prices and in idealtech (where i'm planning to build my rig with) is like higher from 10 to 50 to 100rm so... i should up my budget fir atleast 300to500 again... hayyoww.. never gonna build my rig this month sad.gif
*
Yeah like I said the lower end RAM will have smaller increases across the board, so RM10-50 sounds about right. Painful, yes, but not exceedingly so. Stick your budget to RM400. Find a brand or model that falls within that range, which already exceeded your original of 300, but no need to go all the way to 500.

Thank god I bought mine like two weeks ago. T.T

It would be great if DDR4 price will be only slightly higher than DDR3,but i doubt that it would.... cry.gif Maybe it will be in example 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz is currently at RM239 (Corsair),maybe somewhere around RM300 for DDR4 8GB?  hmm.gif
*
Probably. But I don't think the differences will be that small. Maybe RM400 or so for the DDR4. Worse if it's enthusiast grade ones. cry.gif

I don't think a new tech will be that much pricy, since nobody gonna buy a new tech if it cost more, hence the demand will be low at first, they can't overprice it.
*
True. But if my RAM can increase by RM200 literally overnight then I don't know what DDR4 can do. But yeah, maybe a RM100 premium over the current DDR3 modules would be more realistic.

Btw, current motherboards cannot accept DDR4 right? I have to overhaul, and get a Z97 based system or something, which is also coming out soon.

Those large pre-built desktop/laptop manufacturers (dell, HP and so on) need to use new RAM in their oncoming new systems. It made no sense for them to adapt to DDR4 if it gonna cost far more than DDR3 did.

Yeah, current mobo can't support DDR4.
*
Oh yeah, forgot about the massive manufacturers. Hahaha. Silly me. doh.gif
True true. But it's all just speculating now. We will see bow it goes when it does get launched. biggrin.gif

So building now is like building something great on this timelne... and it will stay there forever because upgrading to DDR4 will be changing cpu mobo and possibly even other components due to socket changes... is that so? Its kinda like its better to get a gaming laptop first before setting up a rig... T_T
*
Yeah well, you could still get DDR3 compliant motherboards and CPUs in 6-10 months time even when the new Z97 and DDR4 comes out. So it up to you whether you think it's worth it getting the new RAM and new socket based mobos. At the higher end the differences will be so small when gaming it probably won't be noticed.

Haist to hell with that priced hiked! I'm gonna get my rig on my next day off!!! There's only 1 solution with that... work 9-11 hours/day! Hell with that, on my March day off i'm gonna be in the battle in the field on my 4th time! I'm gonna be riding on one of the jets intercepting enemies and give them a hell of a dog fight! I'm feeling my game thirsty blood again.... oww f**k i hate this.. this makes "waiting for my next salary" so damn irritating...
*
HAHAHAHAHHAA WHOOAAA SLOW DOWN. Don't rush in so fast LOL. I know the feeling, in the same boat here waiting for my salary and commission to drop, but still, it's best if you slowly look around first and get something which is of better value and better price to performance ratio than others. You might not need to wait for DDR4/Z97, but still, no rush. Just need to top off abit more for RAM and HDD than usual.

+1, everytime new gen of high end is just marginally better than old gen of high end.

Just that GPU may have a bigger leap every year (especially in the price, high end card easily dropped into mid end card of next gen).

Apart from that, other parts (CPU, RAM, MOBO and so on) pretty much very value preserving.
*
Bloody hell AceCombat's Delid 3770K running at 5Ghz Full tilt with sub-50° temps still scares me till today. Hahahah. So I don't think there will be a massive noticeable difference between Z77, Z87 and Z97.

Yeah only GPUs have a massive leap every generation. But still, cards like the GTX660Ti/GTX680/HD7970 are still going strong for a lot of people.

Motherboards, well, I don't get why some people pay RM1500+ for them, unless you're a serious overclocker running triple or quad GPUs. rclxub.gif
