Generally, with at least 3 years of work experience, you are considered an experienced hire. If you don't get progressed to the next level in your current job, you should consider looking for other job opportunities.

However don't change jobs just for the sake of salary increment. Think of what you want to do in the long term and change job to expose yourself to new learning opportunities that will lead you to your career aspirations.

QUOTE(jyliew @ May 21 2015, 05:27 PM)
Hey guys, please help me here. I'm a Malaysian working for a small mobile applications company in Europe. I used to work for them from home in Malaysia, but I had the opportunity to work with them for 3 months in Europe as part of my university internship requirements. My 3 months term is almost up now, my employer wants me to discuss with her how much salary I would like when I'm back in Malaysia (working from home). So I would like any experts opinions on this.

Job Title : unclear (because I do a lot of different tasks)
Job Description (these are just some tasks that I normally do, but not limited to):
- check helpdesk tickets 2 times per day (once in the morning, once at night)
- check Play Store review once per day
- testing builds on multiple devices when new build is available
- design mockups / prototypes for new application
- create different sizes when new images are available
- suggest 30 new image ideas every 2 weeks
- check Play Store for copyright infringement once per month

Years spent in company : April 2013 - now
Company : confidential
Industry : Mobile Application
Tenure : Full-time
Employment Level : n/a
Experience before joining : none
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree
Current salary at Europe (to cover rental): 800EUR
Location: confidential

The above are based on work done in Europe. To summarize, the question is how much should I be paid per month when I'm back in Malaysia, working in the comfort of my own home? I would go through salary reports / websites if I have a specific job title, but I don't. Please help!

so i supposed u will be based in malaysia, the only merit is u gaining a 3 month experience oversea's, then for the present market the salary for fresh grade (degree holder) should be within the range of RM2250 to RM2500 (maybe).... this is for the basic salary. unless u have obtained a degree and have (from april 2013 to date) experience, it will be different story.

here if i get ur situation right u have just graduated....

dont settle for mediocre salary
since they are based there... they should pay you what you deserve...
ask how much a typical person would be paid there... then work from there...
it could be 3k Euro and they might be happy to settle with 2k Euro...
if you say 2.5k RM thats like 650Euro... come on... don't settle for 2nd best

Yes Carrozaria, it's 3 month experience overseas, plus experience from April 2013 until now. I'm waiting for my convocation in August, Business Administrations Degree.
