Cannot convert those replacement leave to pay? Not sure about that as my company does offer that incase we have no holidays to take.

Nowadays everyone has to sacrifice something.
There is a clause somewhere that says i can get paid for each day i cannot take. but it will not be exercised.
In the end, the offdays are forfeited. Complaining about it will just look bad in front of the boss.

They looked for me, found my profile in some job site and called me up. I have no intention to leave my former company during that point of time so I asked for a salary that will somehow tempt me enough to leave. It wasn't pre-planned.

I have been spending a few days looking on this thread; I have not been doing much lately. And I want to let you guys know that mouth has stayed open in astonishment for some time.

I thought GDP per capita in Malaysia is USD10.5K per annum and average salary in KL is RM8716 according to salaryexplorer

I have always thought I am doing OK till I read how much everyone is making.

I have decided that I am not making enough!

p.s. Damn jealous but then I realised horr, that I actually hate myself.

Well, in Malaysia, most are doing very well in IT and banking sector.

O&G (operator / end user side) and Investment Banking or jobs serving niche market are in a class of their own. So can skip those first in this lifetime, or otherwise, press RESET button.

Must tell the kids to become the OIM of an installation or some bigshot Investment Banker. If they say wanna be a professional gamer or police or soldier or Barbie doll, means I am doing a bad job, as a parent.

Well, unfortunate also to hear that these 3 sectors are also seeing retrenchment now, at least on the vendor / consultant / supporting industry side of O&G.

And like most sifu's advise here, jump if you think you feel that there's nothing left for you to learn in your current job.

DO NOT STAY IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

Nice salary for someone under 30. Congratulations!!

Good luck too, as we all know that the O&G is going through tough times. Hope that things will get brighter soon.
