Dear all, please recommend me a good mechanic to service a 1st gen forte (4 gear), or most of the 1st gen owners will buy parts and service at their usual mechanics?

Nothing major tongue.gif 51k mileage service. My car is almost 4 yrs old and under utilized. I want to maintain it condition and do not want to simply send to a irresponsible mechanic. Imagine I got quoted with using OEM Proton Waja parts (a/c filter, mineral oil filter, front & back absorber, front & back brake pads) I have no confidence at all... sad.gif Thats why I'm asking if I can get a mechanic who can settle everything using ori KIA parts and not too far from my work place (kota damansara) or home (setia alam) If final verdict is to go and get parts listed at 1st page then look for mechanics then I have to. wink.gif

Did you still send it to KIA service centre for the last service?
If yes, just continue the habit.

Honestly, price is cut throat.. but the pros is we get ori parts.

Few parts can use OEM one coz forte made from gurun...
But dun use waja one lorrr... totally different...
And OEM parts need to be replaced earlier than ori...
Dun have any shop near ur place that sell KIA ori parts.
U need to go to jln ipoh/segambut...

Very well noted. I'll drop by to check then, nearest should be Segambut. Honestly there is a significant difference between ori and OEM. I drive proton also I use ori parts. Can very much feel it. smile.gif

Neway, thanks for the replies guys.. appreciate the spirit.. notworthy.gif

Just my bad experience dealing with their Branch Supervisor from Glenmarie Branch, ask them to quote in the morning, from 9am. Waited whole day and no response. I had to keep calling them to get a quote. End of the day around 5pm, call again only the girl look for the branch manager, and he ask me go to the shop. I mentioned I went there before, gave them my car no plate and my name, he said, sorry no record and hang up. What an id**t. Business too good to service returning customer? Maybe the HQ is better, for those who want to try out, please avoid Glenmarie Branch.
