Forte 1.6

When you need more power, sure FC is higher..but modern car fuel EFFICIENCY technology improved....if you ask me 1.6 power and FC is acceptable...

How many litre per 100km for city and Highway for 2.0?
Another  thing, how to know if the car is 1.6sx or 2.0sx?
*
FC is very subjective to driving style...some can get as long as 5-6 liter / 100km in highway where some get 7-9km ...

2.0 come with factory fitted leather seat...something that can't cheat is the engine. Forte 1.6sx and 2.0 from exterior and interior look...different is the seat...unless you see the engine.

Speaking about FC..last week went to KL. Here's my FC figure for 100% highway drive (from Alor Setar North toll to Sungai Buloh Layby) :
[attachmentid=4360512]

Please note that my car is Forte 2.0 4-speed with 16" lightweight rims. Average speed 100-120 km/h only (most of the time use autocruise)  rolleyes.gif

Fuel to full tank at Alor Setar & arrived at arriving at Sg. Buloh just below half a tank

Good?  brows.gif

Its NORMAL. Tried 1.6sx 6 speeds average 100km/h  - KL > Tangkak (near 1/4 of tank)  > Tangkak > Jenjarum > KL (reach home slightly below half tank)...FULL stock 17" ...when you at optimum speed FC will not have far much different  icon_rolleyes.gif

hi bro, if 2012 is 80k+ mileage, isit worth it for rm50k?
*
Do the math....if 3 years 80k km = 1 months around 2222km....(if you ask me its slightly above normal use) coz to me monthly 1500-1800km is normal but again DEPEND

the lowest on hway I only manage to get 6.x

If you able to get this low reading all the way till empty tank MAYBE you can consider good FC. Now only half tank...cannot consider low FC biggrin.gif

older technology - maintainance cost lower....MDPS have certain amount of issue and replacement is killing...

It's true actually. For smoother ride..having extra gear ratios is a way to go. Only the CVT can outperform any conventional transmission in term of smoother ride & staying at the power band without excessive revving  thumbup.gif

4-speeder technically speaking can't win over the 6-speeder in term of smooth ride, stay at power band without revving higher & low cruising RPM. I believe the only thing that the 4-speeder in the advantages are lower maintenance cost (no need fully syn ATF) & better acceleration from stand still (2nd gear alone can accelerate to 120km/h for the 2.0) in which i need to drive like mad to gain this advantage  tongue.gif

Anyone has done any exhaust modifications? Full or partial. Come share your setup and result!

I recently changed to:
4-2-1 extractor
12" bullet
S-flow muffler
2" piping

Results:
Improvement in pick up at 1k - 2k & 2.5k - 3.5k rpm range.
Somehow agak lemau/lethargic at 2k - 2.5k rpm. Especially when not full throttling.

FC improves when driving with slow & steady increase in rpm and also cruising.
FC suffers a lot with frequent high revving, up and down the rpm scale.
Both compared to stock setup.

Noise level slightly louder. But no different when idling or below 2k rpm. Droning quite noticeable when cruising at 2k - 3k rpm. But at speed above 100kph, droning sound is drowned by road & wind noise.
*
Something goes up , something must come down ...that is the balance...you can only gain more pick up OR top end....thats is WHY stock give REASONABLE balance result regardless slow or high rev....

Remember, no replacement for displacement....2" piping is bit too much for NA car too rolleyes.gif

Most of the CBU Forte 1.6 & Forte 2.0 came from the very first batch that coming in at the end of 2009 & early 2010. Owner who own this batch, got a registration card (geran) that clearly stated "Kenderaan Import Baru" which means a CBU unit (from Korea). After that batch, NazaKia already declared it as CKD & on the geran stated "Pemasangan Tempatan". For a CKD unit, I believe however, most of the parts are still coming from Korea & NazaKia only assembled it here @ Gurun plant. We hardly can distinguish between this CBU & CKD unit actually except when we see the geran & the chassis number at the left lower corner of the windshield. The chassis number for the CKD unit starting from letter "P" while for CBU unit "K"  nod.gif

Somehow it doesn't impact resell value. smile.gif Just like earlier batch of Proton vs fully local assemble proton....for Forte, either fully import or local most engine part is from korea...

If u've a time, go see 2009 & 2013 model... And compare...

endless debate. Luck and how previous owner care is most important. Alot out there is gila mod and best part is without proper knowledge of 'cosmetic' mod...like change to cipkai rim, add this led that led, HID etc...all cheapo stuff which eventually make a good stock car become a fancy + problematic car

The main player of suspension is the absorber. Default low profile tires hence engineer cant put in a stiff absorber which reduce the comfort..and now ppl wanna make it hard back....confuse ler

asian 'trick' to make the spring stiffer > side effect is spring less bouncing rate...what will happen it it suppose to bounce + what will happen to the absorber.

Dun confuse...
If drive alone no need to do anything...
If always fully.loaded , better chg...
Furthermore KIA engineer dunno how msia roads before they design the setup...
They tought same with Korea... Kekeke

When travel frm Karak to Temerloh with 5 fully loaded, everytime the road wave, got guk guk sound coz bumpy...
*
Change suspension then...not kacao spring laugh.gif or add fancy accessories

One of the option or look for stiffer suspension or different rate spring (both absorber and spring need to be matching not stressing each others)
