QUOTE(Bangle Ring @ Apr 14 2014, 01:26 AM) QUOTE(thesun @ Apr 14 2014, 02:00 AM) Thanks guys! your photos seems nice as well. Lumia really have very decent camera. And the thing I like about the ASUS HDR mode is that it does it very naturally and rarely overdoes it. If I didn't tell you it's in HDR mode I bet you wouldn't know anyway Here's some more photos from my phone... Some taken in HDR, some night mode and some normal mode. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « To be continued.... |

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ Apr 14 2014, 07:30 PM) dude, im a little jelly that my Xperia Z Ultra cant compete with you, since both are 8MP contenders. The Asus I know is using a Sony sensor which might be the same as the Z ultra since they have the same Mp count but can't confirm. What the Asus have in advantage though is a wide angle lens. Most phones like the Z ultra, iPhone etc have a very narrow lens around 30-35mm equiv estimated, the one on the Asus is roughly 28mm equiv which is the same or slightly wider than most dslr kit lenses which is good for landscapes. Downside to a wide angle lens though is that it lacks in macro and general close up shots. Another tip is I always wipe my lens before I take a shot, especially when there are light sources in the image. Often the difference you can tell immediately. Make sure the section of cloth you use to clean it is clean though, don't want to scratch your lens and make it worse now |

Yes "bokeh" I'd say is an overabused term generally used for shallow depth of field, or background blur. People usually refer to bokeh only for extreme shallow depth of field, but technically his image have some background blur as well.
Edit: Ok, just realised what you meant. http://petapixel.com/2014/04/16/google-bri...like-lens-blur/ Your image doesn't really show off the function quite well though... This post has been edited by Nightstalker1993: Apr 23 2014, 07:28 PM |

QUOTE(ThisIsAter @ Apr 23 2014, 09:47 PM) Maybe because i've set it quite low? Using lens blur mode in google camera..you can set the level of blurness tho..i've set it around a quarter because for me its just nice..anyway good to have somebody to share thoughts to.. Thing is you can get background blur effect doing macro shots easily without any special software and stuff. Google's camera blur effect is meant to digitally create an image with perceived shallow depth of field by combining a few images which can't be had from a single shot. A good demonstration of this feature would be like in the article where a portrait of a person is shot. The image with the blur mode looks like it was taken by a DSLR with a wide aperture lens. QUOTE(Bangle Ring @ Apr 23 2014, 10:16 PM) Yes, but that's taken by a professional camera lol |
