First Transformer after RoTF line. Never collected any TF stuffs after that movie line and this dude has captured my heart eversince it was first pics was released. Got him at a cheap price of RM87.90 at Tesco! A steal!

Now im intrigued. from the alt mode to bot mode.... it doesnt look too complex nor hard to transform.

as for mmc, their portfolio not all that great also .. knight morpher, screamer, cyclops ..

anyone had collection of transformer headmasters purchased during 80's. I seen hardly anyone discuss about them. these are retro toys brought during 1987. they cost average about rm80 that time?

forget about bumblebee and cliffjumper. if memory serves, VW has the same stance as porsche. which is why there never was an alt/bt version of them.

be careful with the guns though, when they fit into the hands they are TIGHT. i've heard of people breaking the gun handles when trying to remove the guns from the hand sockets

Same goes for Bovis but in this case it's the knives. I contacted MMC to see if I could pay them to buy a replacement, and they actually send me a pair  free of charge. That's pretty good customer service.

any one of these seriously bought during 80's era.

That's because unlike orang putih,many have day jobs and dont have time to dedicate fully on this hobby.  We should appreciate them for taking a day off and transport their beloved collection there and coordinate what needs to be displayed. Not to mention the budget constraint  ( cannot spend $$$ produce many fancy stuff just for the one-off exhibition ). I also hope displayed items can be shown in a uber-cool diorama display in a thematic way together with cool writeups and blazing pew-pew light and sound shown  + Prime speech, but thats not possible due to $$ and time factor.
And sometimes certain events came in ad hoc manner (for eg. only few weeks to prepare) and also under the restriction of sponsors: How many display space available, what to show,what not to show).
For the "special /rare upcoming items",  its up to the sponsors and hasbro themselves give face or nor want to reveal anything (and usually they wont ). Local fans have to end up showing whatever they got. Perhaps to the toy companies , Malaysia is still a 3rd world country so better don't offer so much .

the reviewers keep saying it's not that bad.. i think they're just forcing themselves to say something nice about it.. the thing that kept coming up was
"this new line is targetted at kids" but the thing is sold as a first edition on amazon.. so unless kids can go online and start buying things off amazon, that argument is quite invalid..
to think that thing costs $60.. i'm staying away from AOE line for now, and keeping to the 30th anniversary line, thank you

it's not entirely hasbro's fault.. quite frankly it's also the movie designer's fault, because the AOE OP has almost no truck parts on him, everything is all bot and no truck so it's hard to incorporate any truck parts onto him.. he was destined to be a shellformer and there's not much hasbro's designers can do
