He's the Autobot commander from the Japanese Transformers: Victory, which takes place after Masterforce.

Star Saber is leader for this particular group in TF:V, Optimus is legend status because IIRC he died in the Headmasters series (alternate G1 continuation, disregarding TF:The Movie). There is also Ginrai, the OP look-alike which leads the Autobots in TF: Masterforce

anyone had collection of transformer headmasters purchased during 80's. I seen hardly anyone discuss about them. these are retro toys brought during 1987. they cost average about rm80 that time?

I m still keeping these below.

Transformers G1 Headmaster Horrorcons APEFACE
Transformers G1 Headmaster Chromedome

*
Most of mine was given away to my younger cousins/nephews (which i regret the day after, lol).
The only G1 originals I still have is Victory Leo(RM99.9), StarSaber(RM129.9) and SixShot(Forgot price).

forget about bumblebee and cliffjumper. if memory serves, VW has the same stance as porsche. which is why there never was an alt/bt version of them.
*
That time, yes. Now Lamborghini is owned by Audi, which in turn is owned by VW. If Sideswipe Lamborghini is out, VW Beetle is no prob.

While the idea of getting MPBB is great, I is sad because the BTBB was gonna be awesome because it's the new Beetle+interiors/steering/diecast.

be careful with the guns though, when they fit into the hands they are TIGHT. i've heard of people breaking the gun handles when trying to remove the guns from the hand sockets
*
It fits just right on mine, maybe they fix it on the 2nd batch? I got mine from Time Machine (same price above).

But dayum it completely swept me with intense nostalgia; I felt like I was back in my primary school self unboxing G1 Sixshot again. The weight, the size, the color, and plastic. They're just perfect!

Same goes for Bovis but in this case it's the knives. I contacted MMC to see if I could pay them to buy a replacement, and they actually send me a pair  free of charge. That's pretty good customer service.
*
I just switched them with Fortis'. For some reason Fortis seems to come with sword that fits slightly looser on mine; switched them with Bovis and they are now happy to slice and dice some bots! biggrin.gif

That's because unlike orang putih, many have day jobs and dont have time to dedicate fully on this hobby.  We should appreciate them for taking a day off and transport their beloved collection there and coordinate what needs to be displayed. Not to mention the budget constraint  ( cannot spend $$$ produce many fancy stuff just for the one-off exhibition ). I also hope displayed items can be shown in a uber-cool diorama display in a thematic way together with cool writeups and blazing pew-pew light and sound shown  + Prime speech, but thats not possible due to $$ and time factor.
And sometimes certain events came in ad hoc manner (for eg. only few weeks to prepare) and also under the restriction of sponsors: How many display space available, what to show, what not to show).
For the "special /rare upcoming items",  its up to the sponsors and hasbro themselves give face or nor want to reveal anything (and usually they wont ). Local fans have to end up showing whatever they got. Perhaps to the toy companies , Malaysia is still a 3rd world country so better don't offer so much .
bersyukurlah.

I think the main problem was having it at Genting, lol. You're more likely to get more customers back in KL tongue.gif

Besides, it needs some Alanyuppies lego TFs to add variety laugh.gif Maybe you can sell some of them too brows.gif

the reviewers keep saying it's not that bad.. i think they're just forcing themselves to say something nice about it.. the thing that kept coming up was
"this new line is targetted at kids" but the thing is sold as a first edition on amazon.. so unless kids can go online and start buying things off amazon, that argument is quite invalid..
to think that thing costs $60.. i'm staying away from AOE line for now, and keeping to the 30th anniversary line, thank you
*
I'm more worried about those fiddly leg panels that seems easy to snap off by kids when transforming... No amount of advance modding work could save this, even. Makes me wish that some 3rd party would start tackling movie designs.

it's not entirely hasbro's fault.. quite frankly it's also the movie designer's fault, because the AOE OP has almost no truck parts on him, everything is all bot and no truck so it's hard to incorporate any truck parts onto him.. he was destined to be a shellformer and there's not much hasbro's designers can do doh.gif
*
Also partly fault on whoever approves the budget for 'em toys... hehe. I bet the designer had to burn a few weeks of OTs while pulling his hair out pondering stuffs like "Y U spent money on chrome but waste 60% of it on the torso?" laugh.gif Seriously, it would actually look slightly better if it was evenly distributed on the hubcaps/smokestacks.

And I think it's also quite weird that since movie3, the voyagers are actually designed better than the leader class toys, TFP included.

Guys guys, I've being in a dilemma of getting a full set of third party combiners, due to "budget" wise, I'll only be able to choose 1...

From the following list of third party combiners, which 1 do you worth to get?
- TFC Uranos/Superion
- MakeToys Giant/Devastator
- FansProject Intimidator/Menasor
- Mastermind Creations Feral Rex/Predaking
- Warbotron Not-Bruticus/Bruticus
I'll be happy to get some input regarding accuracy/quality etc from you guys smile.gif
Thanks!
*
Hard to decide if you don't know what you prefer...so I'll just list come pro/cons based off my opinion:

TFC Uranos/Superion
+ Size is great
- Legs abit on the long side making him look weird
- Funny face which means you might need the Wings of Uranos addon to cover with faceplate

MakeToys Giant/Devastator
+ Really cool combined form, great interesting update on individual bot designs
+ Strong joints, nice quality.
- Individual bots strays from g1 (if that bothers you)
- Some reeeeally stiff joints may hurt your fingers

FansProject Intimidator/Menasor
+ Overall nice, interesting alts and bot mode
+ Great range of articulation/posability in combined mode
- individual bots a bit on the small and fragile side

Mastermind Creations Feral Rex/Predaking
+ Great value for size and design, really cool sword
+ Nice plastic quality
- none so far

Warbotron Not-Bruticus/Bruticus
+ Biggest 3rdP combiner so far, towering over Superion.
- you'll be waiting long for this one, and price might be high. No review yet so no idea on the quality of plastic/joints

I'll probably recommend FeralRex/Giant. Warbotron is looking good, but it's best to wait till their first member to get a video review before throwing money, considering it's a newcomer.
