First term's hardest for PA, Chemistry and Mathematics. Not sure about Physics, both term 1 and term 3 are equally horrible.

Heard that 3rd term for Biology's the worst.

First term PA is horrible. Too much things to study. Chemistry's the hardest but once you got the concept, you can score. Inorganic chemistry (2nd term) is easier to study but harder to score. First term Maths(T) is pure nightmare. It'll get much more interesting for calculus (second term), and got boring for statistics (third term).

Well, IMO

PA - Sem 1 and 2 are tougher because they have structure questions, sem 3 is tough because of the essay which really requires facts (International bodies, organisations, etc)
Maths T - Sem 1
Physics - Sem 1
Chemistry - All, hardest subject among the 4 subjects

Thanks for replying:)
Yes. I heard from my seniors that first term is the hardest but their sem 2 results are worst than the first. Is it because of the course work?

No, simply because it is harder to score. The things you study are easier (but not easy, so don't get all so relieved), but the marking scheme is very strict for PA and Chemistry.

For PA, the graph is one part most students lost marks at. The essay question that came out for STPM 2013 was tricky so many people have got tricked.

For Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry is, in terms of concept, easier to be studied than Physical Chemistry. But the marking scheme requires certain points that most students are not able to write.

And ya, for STPM 2013, Term 2 Chemistry paper is much tougher than term 1 chemistry paper. Whoever set the paper knew what he was doing.

For biology, it gets harder each term. And term 3 was rather hard to understand.
For chemistry, term 1 was the hardest to me, because it involves a lot of calculations. Term 2 and term 3 you needa memorize well. But term 3 was fun haha.

Maths.. urgh, see the term 1 paper. It was really hard.
PA is challenging as you need to answer the papers fast in the given time.

PA is hard in every sem but in different areas. Sem 1 PA is hard because it covers a lot of things in the Malaysian politics. PA sem 2, you have to memorise 30+ dasar dalaman Malaysia and master all types of media for information transfer. Sem 3 is hard because you need to memorise a lot of dasar luaran Malaysia (including some that are not in reference books) and finish three essays in 2 hours.

I always thought Econs for Sem 3 was the easiest since most of the topics are the same as Sem 2 and the questions they give do not need elaborate explanation like in Sem 1 & Sem 2. You took Further Maths? Way to go!!!

Both microeconomics and macroeconomics in term 1 and term 2 respectively are far more interesting than Malaysia's economy in term 3. There are a lot of things to memorize and the mark scope is very small for econs in third term... You lose 8+ marks out of 40 then A fly away. Nope, art students can't take further maths, I only self-studied...

I agree with you. But I see both sem 1 and sem 2 of econs to be more to theory-based approach of our classical economics theories whereas at sem 3 we start to apply them based on malaysian setting. I qote sem 3 to be the easiest snce the exam only requires you to answer 5 short essays and 1 quantitative in contrast to 20 objective, 4 long essays and 2 quantitative of sem 1 and sem 2 papers.

Currently finished my stpm last year. Sem 1 is actually quite easy, but because we students are still new to the syllabus of form 6, so normally it is considered hard at tat stage so most students retake. Sem 2? Oh i love sem2, haha, i feel tat it's the easiest. I dunno bout others tho. Hehe. I guess sem 3 is the hardest.. Lots of things to study, especially PA, mostly general knowledge. I hate pa. Haha.

I'm currently in upper six and I find sem 2 to be harder than sem 1. Perhaps it's because of the PA coursework, Maths coursework and Chemistry coursework. rclxub.gif

logically it should be harder if you don't put in much effort, it will be easier if you grasp the concept smile.gif

For me sem 1 is the hardest! especially physics n math T...chem actually still ok la...as long as u understand all those concept..understanding is very important in sem 2 n 3...n sem 2 is really a nightmare bcoz of the pa coursework! every night also stay up late doing the coursework..OMGOSH! n for me most easy is sem 3..term 3 math looks easy to score but u must understand every single details.. coz sem 3 statistics question is like connected with a lot of marks in 1 Q de...u terbalik smtg the marks will all gone...lol
