Tis been a while since we saw Liverpool rampant in that they did not take their foot off the peddle even after leading 2-0 at half time.
reminiscent of the all conquering teams of 80s.
Long may it continue!

QUOTE(melt @ Dec 16 2013, 10:34 AM) Nothing wrong being pessimistic, if you look at the last 5 season result when we are in white hard lane, its ugly. I hope others just get on with it and enjoy our team who won last night. Nothing right being overly pessimistic either as last night's result shows.

QUOTE(lerijiso @ Dec 16 2013, 11:26 AM) I've always had that thought at the back of my mind for the good past 4-5 seasons. Our play always centers around Stevie when hes around.. we always look for stevie to do something. "If in doubt, pass to stevie gerrard"...thats the mentality when he's on the pitch. If stevie was not in good form, the team will suffer and vice versa. Sometimes, it becomes predictable and we lacked fluidity because of it. I thought BR was gonna use Stevie sparingly but still he played 90 mins whenever he's fit. Its an interesting situation. Im glad you brought this up @maranello. Quite obviously nowadays, Stevie has been a drag on faster play because of his age. The last few games has shown that teams with faster aggressive midfielders can make life difficult for Liverpool as Stevie gets by passed. Gone are the days that he makes tackles all day long. Time for transition

QUOTE(hfi @ Dec 16 2013, 12:02 PM) For me it's Gerrard having to budget his energy level. We tend to play a much slower pace when Gerrard is around - in particular during transitions and build ups. Yesterday we were ruthless during the transitions. Spurs was second best when it comes to the second ball, that's mostly down to us having the midfield and forward players capable of sustaining intense pressing through out the match. And when we did win those 2nd ball, we were quick turn defense into offense and vice versa. Spurs could not settle and play their game - so shell shocked that they made few unforced errors. There were a lot of good things from last night game but the key thing for me was the tempo set by Coutinho. He was ruthless, choosing to attack at pace at almost every opportunity. And you can only attack at pace if you have the right set of midfielders to keep up with the intensity and pace of the game. It's all about momentum, Suarez and Countiho can only press if they have the immediate support from midfield, and the likes of Allen and Hendo have the legs and ability to do just that. And i noticed BR was quick to sub Lucas for fresh legs which then enabled us to sustain our pressing game to the final whistle. Yes Basically to put it simply, we did a Southampton on Suds last nite! The only difference our strikeforce is more potent than Southampton's.

QUOTE(Max_07s @ Dec 16 2013, 12:05 PM) smooth transition is good. he is our captain and has a lot of experience to offer. but now he cant play 90 minutes all the time. but still Hendo and Allen need to be more consistent and improve faster. Maybe after sometime now in the club , Hendo(3yrs) and Allen (2yrs), we are seeing the development as a team. This, plus the baton passing of Stevie is a must.

QUOTE(koolspyda @ Dec 16 2013, 03:30 PM) I almost sometimes get the feeling a certain manager who since retired was our bad karma to climb/return to the upper elecons of English football. Perhaps it was much favoured by many Liverpool fans he decided to retire last season. Yes, The Devil himself.

I thank God we don't have an idiot owner like this one Malky Mackay's relationship with Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan fell to a new low on Monday night as the Malaysian billionaire launched a public attack on his manager. In an extraordinary statement that makes it seem likely that the Scot will be the next Barclays Premier League manager to leave his post, the club's CEO Simon Lim told Mackay he will not get a ‘single penny’ for new signings in January. Mackay had said on Saturday, in the aftermath of a 1-0 win over West Brom, that he wanted three new players in the transfer window – comments that riled Malaysian billionaire, according to Lim.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 17 2013, 09:02 AM) It pains me that some Malaysians are supporting Berjaya FC and are oblivious to how Tan Sri made his fortune, and how many people he's cheated. The legacy continues still if you ask people who have dealings with them. Methinks its a case of a rather BIG EGO..........he thinks Cardiff achieved promotion because of his change of colours!
