The GTX 760 from nVidia is currently the favorite GPU for gamers who want something from the green camp.

With us today is the GTX 760 card from MSI that's paired with their signature Twin Frozr cooling system.

The card is beautiful as it is, with MSI's Gaming series themed red and black chassis for the Twin Frozr cooler that sports 2 large fans.

Heatpipes are seen flowing all over the card, even hovering over the PCI-E power connector sockets.

I/O ports are no different from modern day graphic cards. 2x DVI (one DVI-I, another is a DVI-D), 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort

Temperature
Furmark Burn-in Test was used to stress the card. Fan settings are at Auto. Room set to ~25c.

Below is the full load details.

Card Idle(°C) Load (°C)
MSI GTX 760 (auto) 2982
MSI GTX 760 (manual : 100%) 29 70

The Twin Frozr cooler is a beauty, I was wondering why the load was at 82°C considering it was great cooler. Apparently it was running at only 44% capacity, keeping the graphic card near silent. Run it at full speed and the temperature drops to 70°C.

The Verdict
The MSI GeForce GTX 760 Twin Frozr OC 2GB retails at about RM 1,099. As you can see, the performance is no where near that of the HD 7970 except for Sleeping Dogs. I'm sure there are titles that the card performs similarly to the HD 7970 or even outperforming it but it's certainly not here.

On the market there's also the MSI 7950 3GB GDDR5 OC Boost version for RM 1099 as well. The key difference is the cooler. The HD 7950 will clearly have performance advantage (exchanging blows in some games) but the Twin Frozr is so amazing that you can't just ignore it.

Going by the benchmarks alone the GTX 760 is fast enough, so you could afford to sacrifice a bit of framerate for a silent cooling system if you dig silent rigs.
