Dear All LYNers,
i would like to get all of your advise as this is the first time i am doing a fund raising event.
our academy is interested to do a car wash for fundraising, 2main questions i hope i can get advise from.
1. for such a short event do we need to get permit from the JKM? 2. i tried contacting most of the malls, all rejected as they have their own car wash as tenant, have you come across anywhere that has charity car wash before? mind sharing so i could approach those area?
your advise all much appreciated.

I have done a charity car wash before. Small scale going-around-the-neighbourhood type car wash.
We didn't apply for JKM permit but again it's up to you how much you are funding for. We went to the neighbourhood near our school and hence the residents were quite familiar with us after our introduction.
We bought/brought our own soap, cloth and of course manpower. Used their household water.
To sum it up, we did earn some hundreds with a little hard work. And you can make thousands if you do newspaper collection at the same time. Hassle-free? Impossible, but it feels great.

bikinis car wash is a very good idea and so far no one did it in malaysia... but it's very popular in other countries. not sure about the legal stuff but i'm sure will create a great news and respond by inviting all car club for it.

U can go enquiry at the municipal hall. Or ask petrol station owner. Setup a stall and pay them the water fee.

Getting Started

|
I saw several times near market and weekend market area in front of shop lots.
Find shops owner to provide tap water and you can start the event there.
