Since we launch this online crowd donation website, we get quite good response from the public.
Here I would like to describe a little bit details of who we are, what we doing and what is it means by the campaign posted in our website: 4Charity
Who we are
4Charity consists of 3 IT engineers who got together and decided to use their IT skills for charity. They discovered there is a gap between the needs of the underprivileged and the actual donation that they receive. Often times, people will donate basic necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt, bottled water, used clothing, or money to the charity houses, but those are not all that is needed. Maintaining a proper home for orphans, old folks, and the underprivileged requires massive commitment and enormous upkeep. Some houses require plumbing and electrical repairs, extra beds, fridge, books, and, more importantly, time. Any time that can be spared for them can be used for tutoring the children on their school work, visits to local museums or places of interests, or other interesting activities that can enrich their lives.
In order to address this gap, 4Charity helped develop a portal by which potential donors can access a list of items required based on specific charity house. By providing this portal, 4Charity intends to tap on the generosity of Malaysians and ensure that all the houses get what they really need. Furthermore, 4Charity encourages potential donors to have direct engagement with these houses and make their donation. In doing so, 4Charity hopes that ALL the materials, time, and effort spent will go to the underprivileged without anyone siphoning the goods.
As part of 4Charity’s commitment to this cause, it will maintain this portal FREE OF CHARGE with no strings attached. With the help of fellow Malaysians, 4Charity envisions a future where this portal will be used by all the charity houses across Malaysia and accessed by as many people as possible. Together, we can help make a difference and build a better and caring society.
What we doing
We try to helps the Charity House to raise a campaign for their necessity items thru our website, in which we hope by this, the public can easily know how to help the Charity House with their ability.
By getting the list of necessity items from the Charity House, we will post a campaign in 4Charity that clearly tell the item they needs, with the quantities details, and hopefully can be collected by a defines date.
The public can then pledge as per their preference.
The public has 2 options as for now:
1. Pledge online, buy the items by themself, and deliver the items to the Charity house by themself
2. Transfer money to our company bank account, we will buy the items on behalf of them, and deliver the items to the Charity House.
We always try to gather the donor to have a group visit after we had completed a campaign. By this way, the public will get knows the Charity House and 4Charity itself in more details when they meet face to face.
What is it means by Campaign?
When you go to our website: 4Charity, you will see all campaigns that we had raised for different Charity House

From here, you will see which campaign is still waiting for public support to achieve it's goal (i.e. the total items)
How can we help the Charity House?
So, you would like to contribute, and not sure how to do it? No worries, please follow these steps:
1. Select the campaign that you want to support.
2. Looks at the right-side of the campaign details, please click on the 'Contrinute Now' button
3. The system will show you a pop-up, asking how many would you like to contribute. Please enter your quantity here.
4. Fill in your contact details, this is to help us to organize the items collection & delivery to the Charity House. Then click on the 'Pledge' to confirms your donation.
The system will send you a donation receipt afterwards.
So, now, the most confusing part as we get a lot of questions from our friends so far.
WHAT to do next after confirms the donation?
As describe earlier, the donor has 2 options now:
1. Buy the items by themself, and deliver the items to the Charity house by themself
2. Transfer money to our company bank account, we will buy the items on behalf of them, and deliver the items to the Charity House.
Either way, we encouraging the public to deliver the items together with us, as we will always organize a group visit after campaign completed.
However, it is all up to the donor preference.
At this time being, we are working together with 4 charity house:
1. House of Joy - Puchong area
2. Rumah Charis - Jalan Puchong, KL
3. Shelter Home for Children - PJ
4. Yayasan Sun Beams Home - KL

We are still very new, and we are trying to expand our network to cover different charity house.
Our mission is that, there is no religion boundary, race boundary, location boundary to share our love. Together, we will make a community that cares for the less fortunate people around us.
