I am a Petronas scholar (with a chemical engineering background; graduating soon). A China company is offering me RM8k/month to join them, and 'promise' to give me a junior managerial position within 3 years.

If I inform Petronas about this offer. Will Petronas try to beat the salary OR give a salary slightly more than 4k/month if I am an exceptional student? I dont mind working offshore/overseas (including area like South Sudan).

I really want to work with Petronas because my heart is with Malaysia, but at the same time, the offer from the China company is very attractive for fresh grads.
