QUOTE(penattunggu @ Oct 30 2022, 05:27 AM) Hi guys. After more than five months of kena ghost from HR, I’ve finally received my OL (CDH position). My questions are: 1) The salary they offered is not what I wanted, can I negotiate for my expected salary? A bit of background about me, I have more than five years of experience and they’re offering me less than 20% bump from my current salary. 2) Is going for a CDH position a good idea in this economy? Thank you in advance. 🙏🏽 1) you can negotiate. Do check with them whether you are entitled for bonus . if not, you may want to negotiate your salary to price in these factor. 2) I heard that you can only convert to perm ( if you wish to ) at least only after your 2nd time of contract renewal ( to be confirmed by other sifus here). so manage your risk and opportunity here for a CDH pos in PET.

QUOTE(surianti @ Oct 30 2022, 04:28 PM) Can probably try. 2 years of guaranteed income not too bad. I'm not sure if the salary can be renegotiated. If iinm the benefits are some sort of insurance for self spouse and family with unlimited hospitals covered right? The EPF should follow standard 11-13 percentage? Permanent staff could have higher percentage l. Did you ask about bonuses or contractual bonuses? I’m not too sure about ‘unlimited hospitals covered’. 😅 Yes, EPF is standard. I haven’t asked about bonuses, will do that. Thank you. 😊

QUOTE(psychonic13 @ Oct 25 2022, 03:55 PM) Hi I would like to share my recent experience in regards with the Career Opportunity with PET (executive position, experienced hire) 18/6: Submitted CV 25/7: Chit chat session. 26/7: Submitted Docs 23/8: Received CBI invitation. 6/9: CBI. 28/9: CBI Successful Haven't received anything after that. I know that most of the candidates here waited for months. Hence, patience is virtue they said. So I keep chilling and waiting, hopefully will receive good news soon. Btw, is it inappropriate to follow up via whatsapp? Since I got the HR number when we have a quick chit chat session and no reply when I follow up via email. Thanks The waiting game is real by looking at the number of applicants.

I have a few relatives of a friend who work offshore and sometimes bring a kind of "used oil" or something and make extra 30-70k just like that, do we know which positions are entitled to this huge bonus ? I guess not everybody working offshore gets it.

Deduct EPF still a lot i presume.

Hard to imagine he's able to bring a couple of metric tonnes of crude oil out by himself. Must have been some huge syndicate. With payouts for many ppl to keep their mouth shut.

With payouts for many ppl to keep their mouth shut. Yeah, perhaps some got added in translation when the hubby explained his yearly bonus to his family. Didn't seem so far fetched when youngsters buy G-wagons just taking contracts and selling them cheaper to other contractors. If it's just a standard bonus it's probably not really worth it i guess, just a disguised salary ? Like you feel like 7k is a great salary for KL, then they offer you this huge 70k bonus, you feel even better, but in reality some foreign company would be ready to pay 300-500k yearly easy for somebody with your experience.

Have anyone being offered by Petronas or its other companies to buy out not just notice period but also bond?
I’d informed them about my notice period and the respond was they might want to buy out. The problem is I haven’t disclose my contract situation where I need to serve for 2 yrs due to sign on bonus I’d got from current employer.
Could this be the show stopper? I don’t really want to fork out on my own even though its prorated, so i just need to pay bit more than half the amount I’d received

Hi, I want to share my problem here and ask for opinion to people inside this forum.
I've got an email from HR. They told me they agrees to proceed for my offer letter within a week and ask for some detail from me before finalizing (Notice Period & Expected Salary). Already reply back to them that day. But, now its more than 2 weeks and I don't get any response from them. Is it normal to waited long in this situation?

My friend passes his final stage interview and was told will be hired. Guess what, that was 3 years ago. Til today no news. He is doing fine elsewhere already.
