Hey guys! I'm back. (although still at Sg) tongue.gif

Any news for our FLX lately?

I'm here to report my problematic FLX. Feel like wanna sell it. mad.gif

Last time (March 2013) when I did my ECU/TCU re-flash once, during engine idling (at traffic light), the engine jerk no more. But the weird thing, I suffering difficulty in engine startup. (I did refer to dares explaination but no help at all).

It happen during cold start and also hot start, whereby the engine can't start at all, just keep on cracking. So many method used, such as open up engine bonnet, knocking here and there to ensure wiring lock in place, use 2nd alternate key, but still can't start the engine for few minutes. Depend on luck, sometime it able to start after 4 to 5 crank, but the engine jerk badly, it feel like gonna go off anytime. Rev the engine but no help, still jerk badly and need to turn it off and start it again.

Last month send my car to Proton again, and they said re-flashed my ECU/TCU. This time even worst, the difficulty in start engine still remain (happen once in a week) and engine jerking is back (when idling at traffic light). doh.gif

And there is once I found that 'CHECK ENGINE' light blinking just after engine startup. shakehead.gif

As I know, that 'CHECK ENGINE' will only lid up to indicate there's a problem with engine or related part, BUT... this is BLINKING!! blink.gif The engine sound also weird when it happen. Check my video below.

No more confident with Proton car. sad.gif

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

My first guess is the crank position sensor. Have you checked your error codes?

The check engine light blinking occur on last month Oct, but haven't send to service centre yet, too busy with work. I worry the error code cleared itself because that incident happen on 16th October. Almost 1 month from now.

Saga thread damn powderful, few day, so many pages dy... rclxms.gif

Here is some note for FLX CVT user, in case standby some fund for it.

Last week send my car to Proton Plentong Service Center. Carry out major service to my FLX at ODO reading 90,xxx KM. (skipped 80k KM major service, now only go for it tongue.gif )

Overall the major service is change common thingy, such as engine oil & filter, fuel filter, spark plug & gasket, air filter and so on. (cost already hit up to RM410)

And also not to miss out, change timing belt (add RM6xx sweat.gif ) and total cost inclusive labour, RM 1050... moneyflies.gif

So, make sure you standby this number of fund, before go for it, else can opts for bawah pokok, cheaper. tongue.gif

-----------

During this service, again complain the jerking case, engine go off during reversing, and lastly difficulty to start engine. After all, nothing seem to resolved. All problem still persist. sad.gif

No choice, just bear with it for another 5 years, after completion paying the loan, will then go for oversea's car (if budget allow).
