Although my car don't have roadtax, but the car is well kept....no oil leak, no rattling sound, paints still glosy, clean engine bay..etc...so what's there to worry...
No hard feeling....
And, I worry my own safety and insurance claim. If you don't have insurance, you're endangering other road user's benefit. I'm not questioning your driving skill. Accidents means accidents, it happens as and when 1 are not aware. You just don't let yourself believe it will happen to you(until it happen). By law, each insurance policy atleast covers 3rd party interest, hence government enforced 1 roadtax per motor insurance policy for each road vehicle. If you have no idea how 3rd party works, here's a brief explanation.
1) You were at fault, hit my car from my back. Your insurance company pay my repair cost, but you repair your own car.
2) You were at fault, hit my car from my back and claimed my leg, I have became permanent disability. I sue you for dangerous driving causes me losses my working capability. I want you to pay my potential income from now until 70 years old(include 3.5% inflation every year). Say my current gaji is only RM5000, by the time I'm 70 years old, by right I should have collected RM20 million in salary + inflation. Your insurance company will send a lawyer on your behalf and defend. Usually it only involved up to the CAR's insurance, payout is little if you have an insurance company to defend you. However, if you don't have insurance + legal roadtax, I wonder how many GTR you gonna sell to pay your ass off from jail.
3) You were at fault, hit my car from my back. You ran away, I report police. Police give you saman, I send my car to my own workshop to repair. The workshop will claim back from YOUR insurance company, I keep my NCD.
4) Head on collision with me, if both of us not dead, I shall claim my own insurance, you shall repair your own car.
5) I'm at fault, hit you from behind. I claim my insurance, you claim my insurance. You keep your NCD, I lose my NCD. Everybody happily ever after.
6) I'm at fault, hit you from behind and claimed your legs. You sue me for dangerous driving, both your loya and my loya will sit down and talk out the legal proceedings and pay out.
If you renewed with Allianz 3rd party + fire & theft sum insured RM10000. 1 day you decided the 206 is too crappy to maintain anymore, u took out all the valuable stuff from the car, push it to roadside(make sure you take out the keys). Then you remove the plastic cover on the battery poles, start to jump on top of the bonnet, right on top of battery head. Make sure the +ve pole short circuit with your bonnet, then you walk away go police station report your car being stolen. Probably within few hours you hear someone shouting a 206 caught on fire. Pretty soon
you'll be getting your downpayment for another car liao

So, please don't drive it out if you don't have insurance & roadtax.
