Got to tumpang beli from a friend who went to Australia.
$399 AUD (~1200MYR) from Google PlayStore. Good price.

I think LG's gonna mark-up the retail price at launch.
RM1,599 at least.

My first Android phone too!
Betrayed all my office colleagues - mostly using iPhone WAHAHAHAH!

I know plenty of Googlers are photography kakis. But why the heck do Google can't come up with the good camera for Nexus device?
*
Well, Google did issue an update on most of the problems plaguing the phone.
Inconsistent battery life and poor camera performance will be addressed in a software update in the coming weeks.

Ausie set is it D821?
*
Yes, Aussie set is D821.
Only Americans get the D820. Rest of the world gets the international D821 model.

And yes, Google charges $19.95 AUD for shipment if bought through Australian PlayStore.

For the people who have ordered, just want to know,

from the time you placed payment, how long would it take to deliver?

Going to Aussie next month for holidays, thinking of getting my cousin there to order and deliver to his place, so i can collect it when i go there..

or should i buy at a retail shop, at least can check for defects or what not..
*
Nexus 5 retail in Australia is VERY EXPENSIVE.

Upwards of $AU500.
You might as well wait an buy locally in Malaysia.
Aussie PlayStore selling at $AU399 for 16GB variant, $AU449 for 32GB.

I'm having mine waiting to be shipped too from Singapore to Aussie. Can only get my N5 on 19th Dec sad.gif since my friend is coming back on that date. Btw. Have anyone manage to claim tax at the airport? its 9.1% man. Thats like $399 + $19.95 = $418.95 x 9.1% = RM115!
*
Hmm.. what's this 9.1% tax about?

Basically, goods worth $300 in a single receipt can claim tax refund for tourist.
9.1% is the rough amount you can get from the tax refund.

is this article true about nexus 5 has slow focus or has defect camera?
*
I wouldn't say it's defective but the camera focus time is on the slower side. And sometimes the camera just won't focus properly.

battery life report
been at home all day, so wifi is connected the whole time

unpluged since around 12am today, don't remember the exact time
please don't mind the "6hrs 38m 53s on battery", since i think it got resetted when i reboot the phone, you can see the gap in the chart

Battery processes http://i.imgur.com/NIhJGJh.png?1
SOT http://i.imgur.com/sziueje.png?1
Graph http://i.imgur.com/o6xi0xw.png?1

I'll test the mixed usage when I have the chance
that's a nice target to aim for, but wouldn't that affect your upgrades and push services if they don't run in the background?
and guys, i have a problem with Asphalt 8: Airborne
the game runs fine for he first time, but on the second and consecutive lauches, the game won't register any input
i can still here the music and scroll, but no taps are registered
anyone has this problem?

also, there was a small hiccup when it launches, the graphics will freeze and music stops, for about 1 second or so
*
I think that's something to do with Asphalt's optimization with KitKat 4.4
I've seen a lot of other people having issues with Asphalt on their Nexus 5.
Just minor issues, nothing much to worry about like sudden frame dips.
Maybe the app doesn't run well with KitKat rclxub.gif

i saw singapore sell bout sgd630, is it useable in Malaysia? did anyone buy from singapore?
*
The phone's not officially released in Singapore yet (no Playstore in Singapore)
So it's most probably an AP set, which explains the unusually high price.

But yes, it is usable in Malaysia.
You'll still want to check whether it's the D820 or D821 model before purchasing (get the D821 one). You never know, they could have gotten it from the US Playstore.

So how are you finding your new phone?
I hope mine is a flawless phone. Don't want to deal with the RMA process overseas.

cry.gif my friend is only coming back next week.
I hope mine is flawless as well man.
I've been reading review and watch vids for almost a month.
Where's yours going anyway?
*
My girlfriend is staying in Melbourne at her aunt's place.
So I sent her the money via PayPal and got her to order the phone on my behalf.
She'll only be coming back on Dec 27... SO LOOOOONG, MY NEXUS! cry.gif

I really wish it comes with no defects whatsoever 'cause she's a total newb when it comes to handling all the crap that comes with the RMA process and neither do I want to trouble her.

Eh... she did question my loyalty once. Whether I see her or my gadgets as priority, LOL!
Man, trust me. That's one situation you'd never want to be in nod.gif

Heck, there was once one of our cats knocked over one of my SONOS speakers in the living room and I got SOOOO MAD that day.

Maybe that's why she asked...
But yeah, she knows I'm really passionate about tech stuff blush.gif

Well, judging from what I've seen in the XDA forums.
It seems like it's all a matter of luck, really. Whether or not you're #310K (first batch) or #311K (second batch) you still have the same likelihood of getting faulty handsets. Bummer. doh.gif

I've also seen people RMA their phones just because of the loose and shaky power button (PERFECTLY FUNCTIONAL otherwise) and then got something worse for their replacement, like dead pixels, backlight bleeding, faulty charger, etc.

And what do we have here?
Lazada? Ebay-Malaysia? LOL!

Newegg Malaysia's taking forever to setup. Still operating from their Facebook page only.

EDIT: Oh wait! Newegg Malaysia just shut down a couple months back. Oh noooooes!

I think LYN still the best place for shopping. icon_idea.gif

The pricing still within 1.7/8k  shocking.gif Expected to be below 1.5k  tongue.gif

Nope, those are AP sets imported from other countries.
They charge a premium price for exclusivity seeing as the Nexus 5 is not officially released in Malaysia yet.

dont expect local set will be around 1.4k. The price could be more than rm1.5k.

I think minimum launch price LG will go for is RM1,599.
I expect it to launch at RM1,699.

When the Nexus 5 hit retail stores in Australia for nearly $AUD600 ($200 mark-up).
LG openly admitted intentionally marking-up the launch price. shocking.gif

On the other hand... Note 3 retailed at $AUD999 there brows.gif
