I think even if LG Malaysia went full retard they won't set the price of Nexus 5 for more than RM1900. I think it's reasonable to wait & buy the local set with proper warranty. Unless you really2 want to get your hand on Nexus 5 asap.

Well, some users do care about warranty.Especially if they more than 1K for a electronic device.

Nexus 4 for example have common issue which is power button issue. Affect quite a number of units. I know it doesn't cost much to fix these kind of problems but it'll good there's decent warranty coverage to protect the device. Not everyone likes to play Russian Roulette.

No.You can root & unlock the Nexus devices without voiding warranty. Unlike other OEM's you don't need any security keys to unlock the bootloader. Nexus devices manufacturers will not be able to track whether you have unlocked your devices unless you show it to a technicians. So far none of LYN users modified Nexus 4 warranty claim was rejected because of unlocked bootloader or having custom ROM.

If you really want to avoid the warranty claim rejection, you can always download the device image from Nexus devices site, flash it & lock the bootloader back.

Guys I been really interested in buying a Nexus 5 saw LG G2 almost same price with almost identical specs. Well, it can be argued that Nexus 5 is really a clone of G2 really.

But what puzzle me is that the price of G2 is around RM1.8k in garage sale, compare to Nexus 5 cheapest around RM1.6k.

US selling price of 32 gb USD 549- 600.
Nexus 5 USD 349-399.

What is going on here, how come G2 so cheap in Malaysia? Tempted to go for G2 instead.

Supply and demand.

Nexus 5 -> Hardware assembled by LG but software adaptation by Google.
G2 -> Excellent hardware by G2 but everyone know LG's software adaptation suck & the software update will be snail pace.

That's why users, at least power users will go for Nexus 5. Plus with the limited available Nexus 5 sellers can jack up the price because they know those who are desperate for this device will pay the money for it while on the other hand there will be people who will get G2 only if the price it right.

N5 released in India, retail for Rs29999 = RM1529+

the build quality sucks. the back buttons are fugly. the only reason to get the G2 is the camera, but if u want good camera, the Xperia Z1 beats the G2 hands down, not to mention u get that physical camera button and also AOSP support from Sony. so, there are NO reasons to get the G2

oh yeah, no love from everyone on back buttons design. both G2 & Z1 having almost same spec except camera (obviously Z1 are winner), plus Z1 is IP58 certified. but only the display, LG 5.2" IPS > Z1 5" Triluminous display with the X-Reality engine (whatever they called)

Google has started selling Nexus 5 on Hong Kong Playstore. Price is slightly more expensive than Japan.

I think the back button was good innovation, exactly where your finger are. The fugly part is the round back that resemble low end cheap Samsung phone. I do think G2 and Z1's camera was great ( good in each categories ) but Z1 with all these extra features, hands down winner.

Whoever says G2 suck, I would like to disagree on this part. The build quality is great and never look cheap. The back button makes every sense and plus its has the knock on screen to turn on feature. Battery is the best so far. Beat every handset out there.

Yeah software uupdate maybe slow but still can live with it. Ive owned few handsets and enjoying this G2 so far.

G2 gooding but it's 5.2", way way too big for my palm, as my palm not getting bigger, phones getting bigger , sure my skinny pants pecah.

N5 is 5", which is the largest screen i can go. >5" hell NO!

i feel the same as well... 5" max. in fact i still feel a more comfortable screen size is around 4.6"/4.7" whereby i can comfortably stretch my thumb from one corner to the other.

hope manufacturer will not increase the screen size of future flagship model anymore. if not I may be looking at all those "mini"s as my next phone dy...
