Hi guys. I'm using nexus 5 16gb black. Its been a few days since i started using this phone. Do any of you have signal problem? Sometimes i cannot get any signal. After i turn on aeroplane mode, then turn it off again, i will get the signal. Is it bug or its just my phone?

Havent update to 4.4.1 yet. When will it be available ota?
*
You're not alone bro. My N5 lost the ability to make calls after I making one call. I have to on-and-off airplane mode to get the signal back. The signal still showed that I'm still connected and data status is present. I can't make any outgoing calls and use the internet. You found any fix? I'm on Maxis BTW.

Bro. I found this. Head to Settings > More... > Mobile Network > Network Operator
Wait till it done searching. It will the show you a few Malaysian Network operator. Then click Choose Automatically. See how it goes for you.
It didn't work initially for me. So I went ahead and picked manually selecting the right network operator (which is Maxis for me/us). Then tried to make one intentional call to see if its still staying on the network (without on-and-off Airplane mode). Yes. It dropped again but this time the notification panel showed a message saying "MY MAXIS is unavailable". I went back to the settings again and repick Choose Automatically. I made 3 intentional calls again, this time, all attempts stay connected to the network. I know it sounds like not making any sense technically but it worked for me! Gonna try and see if its gonna work forever from now on. I'll keep you posted. Finally I felt that my baby N5 is not feeling "handicapped" anymore. biggrin.gif

Hmmm.. I just called Maxis and they said that I had to pay RM25 to change the Mini SIM card to Micro SIM card no matter it is normal 3G SIM or LTE capable SIM.
*
Hmm? Is it? I just changed my micro Sim to Nano Sim for ariund that price range. I think they charge more when you request a new Sim replacement.

For those who are still having doubts regarding N5's battery life.
I was worrying about its battery life before pulling the trigger.
Now, I'm relieved.

On stock ROM, Stock Kernel. Unrooted.
Dalvik Runtime.

Usage:
3G + WiFi, on WiFi most of the time
Google Now ON, Location - Battery Saving
Brightness Manual - 0%-30%, high brightness makes me sick.
Sync ON
Play a few games (not long), Browse A LOT of internet, Social Apps and Flipboard.
Turned off notifications for all social apps.

Note : Take 8 hours of the standby time, that's my bed time sweat.gif

That's pretty impressive for me.
Apparently, things can be better if I root it for custom kernels, ROMs and Greenify. Not to forget ART runtime.
APA LAGI SMARTPHONE USERS MAU?

I'm new to the android scene... Previous iphone and htc hd7 user..

Many thanks.

calibrated screens should be warm, so nothing wrong with n5 there. note is the phone with less accurate colors. our eyes are just used to the blueish/colder color tones from other phones so we will assume that n5 has a "yellow tint" on it.

How its like? I don't see anything going wrong with mine. hmm.gif

The problem is I don't even know if mine is having problem biggrin.gif
Aww well. I love my N5!!

BTW. Do any of you guys realize, rebooting the phone will reset the battery stats? I thought it suppose to show the battery stats of your last full charge? hmm.gif

battery stats get resetted whenever you reboot or reach full charge, as to why it resets when reboot, i forgot, it's something to do with how android stores its data

sad.gif is it just nexus or all android phones? I remember my S3 doesn't work this way.

where did you bought? mind to share how is the process of RMA?

I mean if I got a unit like that. Haha but my N5 works perfectly fine except having radio problem during the first 2 days.

Btw, just got my Nilkin SP and Spigen Slim Armor.
Case cantik but crap the case makes my N5 going into reboot-loop. Should have listened to reviews on Amazon. DAMN!! Any solutions?

And, why the SP so sticky 1? I can hardly swipe.

At first SP will be like that, give it sometime to absorb your finger oil ( no joke ) it will be better.
For power button issue, some forumers did use sharp knife to shave the TPU power button so it's thinner ( your own risk ) or you should contact seller/Spigen to get TPU case replacement.
*
Can I demand a replacement directly from Spigen? For that, I have to send it back right?

some people said 4.4.2 solve the problem but not for me.
I believe Nexus 5 signal is weaker than other phone.
It's easy to lost the signal.
Hopefully there is another fix on this.
*
Try changing your settings in Select Operator. Select Automatically and see how it goes. Try selecting it manually as well. That's what I do. As for the signal, I remember someone said Nexus devices tend to show weaker signal report comparing to other devices like Samseng and Epal but the performance is the same.

Divide the price by 11. Which is approximately 9.1%.
