Unless you're planning to take it apart and modify it, you'll have no other choice but to buy an external mic.
If you do plan on taking it apart there are vids and tutorials on how to do it. Just a simple Google Search. |

Can I know which model of rope mic is not good quality and any recommend ? I'm use it for some wedding video shot only .. Rode videomic pro if you're intending to run and gun.I would avoid the latest no battery videomic. Seems to me that the signal to noise ratio would be lesser than the videomic pro. I'm currently using a Rode NTG-2 but my advise is to stay away from most production quality microphones unless you absolutely require it. Pros + Much better audio fidelity. The Rode NTG-2 eats my Rode Videomic for breakfast. Very directional, although still not "magical" Much better built Cons - You need to bring a rig. This includes the mic which is on a stand/boom > Portable Amp/field mixer > External recorder + Camera it uses XLR, this means you cannot just plug it directly to your camera even with an adapter, it will either not work or it'll sound absolutely horrible. You need to have it near the source, if you're just gonna attach it to your camera hotshoe... it'll be no different from the rode videomic. |
