QUOTE(silverND @ Nov 13 2013, 04:51 PM) Did i ask for a list of price? NO. Hehe... At least there's a response.i only asked whether anybody change their tyre size from 205 to 215 and if they know the price just put it. Is that too much to ask? if you're rude that i can be rude too.. :-) My question about air filter has, till today, NONE at all..! So... I keep quiet and wait lor... |

QUOTE(jnick @ Nov 13 2013, 10:18 PM) Hehe... There's response leh... You see—the patience is worth it. The previous question goes like this: "Dear friends, one question. Are we allowed to change to a different brand air filter, K&N for instance, if our vehicle is still under warranty?" What a noob I am—I know. Anyhow, thanks buddy |

QUOTE(win44 @ Nov 15 2013, 10:22 AM) but ya la, pickup was slower than the kia koup. His horsepower is 156, on a 1200kg car. Hehe... That is something I've not thought of... My 143 hp, on 1350 car.. couldnt win. No problems at launch. it was just that my pickup was slower. I expected my shifting to beat his, but.. my car was a bit heavy as well, with an extra passenger at my side. Time to trade in, for new Vios tee-ar-dee. |

QUOTE(K3nnYkl82 @ Nov 19 2013, 11:30 AM) u need to go really technical if you wan to learn about how to make more power.. Wow! These are the sharing of knowledge we are eying for... u first have to know the basic of the engine .. ours is of coz the 4 stroke otto cycle.. then u need to know what is mivec... we have both in the intake and exhaust cam. AFR is part of the big picture here. mapping is NOT a SOFTWARE .. its a SETTING.. u dun simply plug another car setting into another car .. especially different engine. The few things u gonna play with is.. Ignition timing intake mivec exhaust mivec AFR u can touch the throttle response as well if u want. Key point is WHEN to BURN .. What are the mixture ? lean or rich ? .. lean u get more power .. potentially kaaaboom it as well .. Need to know where to stay healthy . too much advance of timing u burn the fuel before it reach TDC (top dead center) .. causing explosion earlier than it should be.. piston forcing upwards and mixture exploded expanding it downwards.. the stroke of the engine also affect the timing.. longer stroke u do not need to advance the timing so much coz timing calculated by DEGREE .. while shorter stroke u need to advance the timing more.. Rocket science ... |

QUOTE(T630 @ Nov 19 2013, 01:55 PM) yupz... he is our macgyver here... we started 2yrs ago with the remap thingy... different versions of map for different cars n setup... during supercircuit group buy theres even a map for it as most of us in the group buy went for dyno to further touch up the afr to squeeze out all the juice there is but still on the safe side thus reducing knocking issues etc... Good day T630.still remember when botack uploaded a map for rich mixture to a mod but then dekit it n did not revert back to stock map... his car exhaust was spitting fire like ebo x... K3 sure know a lot. Someday I may have to consult him regarding ecu remapping if I were to do mine. |

QUOTE(K3nnYkl82 @ Nov 19 2013, 03:11 PM) nah .. for those interested Sure I'm interested..!Fuel Burn Rate Fuel burn rate is always FIX .. of coz diff brand diff octane got differences.. but the key point is u want everything to burn at around 10-15 degree after TDC ... (if u dunno what is TDC .. then u better forget what i am trying to express) take 1.8 engine as an example .. 1.8 engine has a 77.4mm stroke .. 1 rotation is 154.8mm --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- at 3000 rpm (rotation per minute) .. per second = 3000/60 = 50 rotation per second... one rotation is 360 degree.. 1 second / 50 rotation = 0.02 second / rotation @ 20 milisecond to complete one 360 degree @ 1 rotation 20 ms / 360 degree = 56 micro second = 1 degree --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- at 6000 rpm ... per second = 6000/60 = 100 rotation per second .. 1 second / 100 rotation = 0.01 second / rotation @ 10 milisecond to complete one 360 degree 10 ms / 360 degree = 27 micro second = 1 degree ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- from the 2 example above .. u can see at higher speed the time require to travel per degree is shorter at higher rpm ... but the fuel burn rate is always FIXED for the same fuel .. hence logically .. u have to advance the timing more at higher RPM so that u manage to burn everything at 10 - 15 degree after TDC .. K3, if you have the time and are prepared, it would be good to include your knowledge on ecu remapping on you newly created blog. Do consider, brother... |

QUOTE(K3nnYkl82 @ Nov 19 2013, 04:48 PM) That would be a NO .. lolz I respect your decision—What a pity... Let's forgive those fellows and keep walking forward.coz if u dig back here .. there are some GOD that will take avantage of it .. and he pump load map to your car not even knowing how the engine works.. Anyway, thanks a lot for the sharing. |

QUOTE(Janwy @ Nov 20 2013, 08:12 PM) Thank you for your detail explanation at first. Hi there Janwy,Then I study it a bit and a bit by myself, from the Internet, books... but it's not enough. I consider myself is having basic knowledge on internal combustion engine and some understanding on the new technologies like, CVT, MIVEC (valve timing technologies from different car maker, I assume, generally they are the same), ASC, ABS, and so on. I read through some articles about AFR recently, and so I can understand those things you're trying to explain. I am really interested to go deeper in this, but I cannot find a proper study material on the Internet. Any recommendation? By the way, love your rocket science! Try buying some books on Automobile Technology written by professionals from Amazon.com. They help a lot, not cheap though. |
