However, as what she said, consider the CPU is running slower than the XZU, and it does seem subjective. Probably a governor issue which can be sorted out by a custom kernel......if you want to trip Knox....
Off topic: Today I finally taste the iPad Air, total 3 units I try.
I am extremely disappointed! Pure smoothness in iOS no longer there!
I give before pure smoothness in Custom Android 95%, pure Android 98%. Then this iPad Air only can score maximum 90% in pure smoothness. Fail! This showing how fail iOS in higher resolution! Now I know why Apple user complain in iOS and then why appear Reduce Motion feature in latest iOS 7 now! iPad Air only can use when reduce motion is ON. Reduce Motion basically just turn the effect to fade effect.
Now I am pretty sure won't buy iPad mini 2 or iPad Air cause it is worst than Android in pure smoothness.
I believe fruitos relies on fixed bitmap sizes with strict precalculations to ensure smoothness. Once they abandoned this and went pure vector, I think they are in v1.0 land....
Finger to the fruit
So to compensate, they reduce the vector effects to some pixel shading. So net effect = zero improvements with more calculations to make.
Hahaha welcome bro. I really hope Samsung will work on that and release a firmware update to fix it. It's weird that my note 3 is taking more juice from android OS than my screen on time. Does that happen to most note 3 users? and the standby time is not that great either cause most of my juice used up for 1)Android OS 2) android system 3) screen 4) cell standby 5)device idle. Hmmmm
Install Wake Lock Detector and Better Battery Stats. You probably have NLP wakelocks. Turn off all Location based settings. Read post 6 under Wakelocks.
Hello all the master here .. as per the screen shot I posted .. Why am I getting this error message constantly ? Suddenly appear 1 , didn't download new apps . And all my apps are downloaded from play store , no unauthorised apps wor..
Wow bro really thanks for your help, will try to monitor closely. Appreciate your effort compiling every minor details. Btw what do you mean by my device probably my device have NLP wakelocks? i can get rid of it by disabling the location based settings? Thanks sifu:)
It's a type of wakelock under Android System. Supposed to do with location determination, I think it's Network Location Profile.
So far those reporting high Android System tend to show this as tops.
I saw this "Dual Shot": Dual Shot – Tap on the small camera and back of camera icon to use both cameras at once. This will put your face in the photo for a family photo to put yourself in a vacation photo
Er... I tried, is it the one comes with stamp frame for front camera? How to change the frame to frame-less?
You can change the frame style to very thin I think, they have some framestyles to select from.
The National Security Agency has secretly broken into the main communications links that connect Yahoo and Google data centers around the world, according to documents obtained from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and interviews with knowledgeable officials.
By tapping those links, the agency has positioned itself to collect at will from hundreds of millions of user accounts, many of them belonging to Americans. The NSA does not keep everything it collects, but it keeps a lot.......
I have a question, which I personally wonder quite often, maybe some creative minds may supply some plausible answers.
What's really next for mobile computing devices?
We have flexible displays coming. We have 500ppi+ screens coming. 64bit CPUs will come, and probably 4Gb+ RAM
I understand the bit about the CPUs and RAM. What I can't really see of immediate use is the flexible screen and the 500ppi display.
Probably the same thing will play out as what happened when Intel invented the 4004 in the 70's, and didn't know what to do with it until Japanese companies bought them by the shiploads to make electronic calculators...
With Samsung's rumor plan of releasing foldable screen in 2015, my hope is they could improve the battery life. Our device is very capable in terms of raw power, stability is what we need in the future. Also I wish we can have the option of dual boot OS. Foldable screen could be very practical if it is designed nicely, imagine you can run multiple apps side by side on a larger screen without compromising the visual size. A smaller screen for normal usage while larger one can be used for entertainment and office editing mode.
Well then you get the whiners about slim phones....folding all that real estate will mean a thick phone.
Already people think 9mm is ugly. ...wtf... I blame Motorola and fruit for this.
Honestly, maybe I'm a weird guy, but I don't really prefer a phone to be too slim. In those days, I really like the HTC Titan and Titan II with the slide out hardware full keyboard. I know devices nowadays are getting slimmer, but if it is slightly thicker than our Note 3 and you have the foldable screen, for me I won't complain about it.
But still, battery and stability should be the main focus. Hardware is getting better and better but many apps are not optimized or taking the advantage of the new processor architecture. Next year will be the year of 64bit processor but I wonder, how many years it would take for the app developers to switch to that platform
If the sdk is out with good compilers, probably 12 to 18 months. If not then 2 years. But even with optimal conditions you will not see any usability differences. 32bit vs 64bit linux/windows/fruitos are all the same. Only the underlying kernel is different. Even M$'s own 64bit stuff doesn't play nice with its 32bit stuff sometimes.
eiraku have you tried zackthespacks' linux installer on your note2? I did it before and allocated 512mb it was quite snappy but since I dont have an mhl adapter I didn't use it much. Maybe I will try with 1gb allocation now and try libreoffice
Looks like Sammy has succeeded in getting users paranoid about Knox.
Yesterday some samsung bigshot said they will put 50% r&d on software. ..so issue 1 => fix the stupid Knox trust mechanism to be detachable from the kernel!!!
I tried sony experia Z1, the camera is so much smoother compared to GN3. The "smooth" I meant is no motion blur when you move your camera (not taking pictures yet or recording video).
In contrast, GN3 is stuttering if you move your camera around. (not taking pictures yet)
Not sure how to explain the situation, hope some1 else can elaborate better.
The sensor and module is different. The z1 module is a pretty cool piece of engineering so I bet it should perform nicely. I know what you mean about the stutter.
