Wow, you guys really chat alot. V10 in a jiffy.

New Note 3 owner here. WTA, does this phone support USB 2.0 charging (friend's power bank with friend's usb)?

2. How much original retail Samsung's charger(surely include the USB 3.0 cable right?)?

3. How much for the original cable?

More to ask in future.

Thanks.

p/s: submitted the owner's form.

Welcome. Do read page 1 for more info.

1. yes

2. I don't know, probably 69-99

3. I don't know, probably 69-99

brotan sells good cables. If you are concerned about charging read post 5.

We chat a lot because most of the regulars are flashoholics.

Flash straight using Mobile Odin Pro without any repacking step. Don't blame me if it doesn't work for you. I myself never thought it will work after everyone mentioned Knox will be tripped. I tried it just for the experiment request from waveweaver since I'm ready to trip the Knox, but voila, it works for me.

All the best to you bro and hopefully we can get more statistics here. But make sure you are well prepared to trip the Knox first.

So you loaded up the tar.md5 and flashed via MOP directly? Did you check Everroot and all the options there?

Damn you make my hands itch terribly.

Care to provide a guide?

I still have 30mins to go for MJ7.

LOL..I know you can't stand  tongue.gif

1. Download UK' MJ7 firmware.
2. Extract the tar.md5 (I placed in internal SD - not sure if this make any differences)
3. Open the tar.md5
4. Check
    i.  Everroot
    ii.  Inject SuperSU
    iii. Inject Mobile Odin
5. Flash

Btw, how come you take so long to download the firmware?

I'm getting only 100kbps dl speed, about 3+ hours. I started late too, and was doing some other stuff.

Good one. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed.

then the 1 u guys flashing , mj7 ? it's a custom rom or a offical uk rom ? why flash it , better then the stock out of the box rom ah ? sorry for the noob question lol
*
It's an official stock UK ROM, but is a newer version. Supposedly it has some benefits to the camera and modem, so we're gung ho to try.

I m interested to know if Note 3 is able to support external hard disk via OTG?
*
Yes depending on cable and power draw. You probably need to supply power separately to the hdd.

If you do not wipe data, your frozen apps remain frozen.
Why dun want to use google sync? Its the most reliable backup for contacts.
SMS i use sms backup and restore. Other apps i use TB.
Your download/photo manual copy la to harddisc or pc or send to cloud.

guys,

i more confused now.

using rdlv and urdlv, i need to flash mj7 the UK version or i need to get the mj1 firmware and reflash to make it vega version and then root?

my plan is;

1) root my mj1
2) install mop
3) flash mj7
4) root mj7

all this will no impact on my data, my data still intact.

so, all sifu out there, can someone advise what to go next?

thanks.
*
Your steps are correct.

For 1, root with URDLV then the rest will follow.

well its good enough right now, no point going aosp or aospa, end up losing all the nice features, i'm also reluctant to freeze most of the samsung apps because i don't see the point, as long as it doesnt run in the background creating wakelocks its good enough for me.

need halo? got replacement but note 3 multitasking is power enough
want PIE? got LMT launcher
want theme? got wanam but its for notification menu only la haha

When's your turn for MJ7 ?

Okayyy..confirm that I cannot downgrade to M'sian MJ1 anymore.
Flashing can still be done but no data connection and sound. The phone will go into loop about every 5 minutes.

I don't know bout Knox 0x0 club but I think you guys also gonna have the same issue if you try to downgrade. Meaning please care bout your phone (those with MJ6/7 firmware) while waiting for the latest M'sian updates where I hope we all can flash safely again.
*
I think typically we won't care about going back to MJ1. At this point, with the daily abuse, we should be over the initial problem period, and should be able to get some slack from further hardware problems until the next Malaysian firmware shows up.
