Morning guys, I'm moving to a new house soon. Currently in planning stage for some renovations. Thinking of installing permanent wiring for my surround speakers, so I'm thinking of using CAT5. Do we have to do all the braiding stuff like Chris Venhaus suggested? It's just too complicated. Or can I just use 2 CAT5 (teflon coated) cables, one for positive and one for negative, with all the small wires inside twisted together into one speaker post?

QUOTE(liew79 @ Nov 17 2008, 08:45 AM) i read this diy thread few days ago and planning to get the beldon cat5, wanna share share? That's a great idea bro. But I wanna know how it really works first. From what I read to DIY this is quite complicated. Is it possible to directly use the cable or not, maybe not single, but a few runs for a single connection.
