I'm back for more question .... been browsing through neutrik website, found that their plug got the so called 2 poles and 3 poles version, emm what's the difference? I'm going to use a two conductor cable to DIY an RCA - RCA and mini - RCA interconnect, so which one suits me well?

Just curious, what's the gauge of the 6N pure copper cable you have and also where can i get it? Am kinda trying to look for some pure copper cables(solid core preferably) in 21AWG or 20AWG, or even 15AWG or 14AWG(this i think can only find stranded ones la.. where got so thick solid core laugh.gif)

Want to try out some ICs that implement the Eichmann Ratio smile.gif

NICE ... just now I went hardcore and found a factory that mainly focus on produce 6n OCC cable, one of their interesting product is 6n OCC silver which they mentioned that been reviewed by taiwanese and chinese and verdict is it sounds better than pure silver brows.gif and they are seeking for distributing agent, I tried my luck and left a message but tomorrow will contact them through phone line again smile.gif

Trying to get in some cable so that our fellow DIYer here could have great alternative, then my friend suggest this to me, this braid certainly looks sexy but in my noob opinion, is it hard for our fellow here to differentiate which to solder to ground then which to conduct? Sorry for my noob question, cos i seen the thing is wrap in transparent tube and it's quite different to the common starquad since it got blue and white shielded conductor smile.gif

why not you just mark the both ends of the cables before you braid them together? like using marker pen or sticker. you can always remove them after you finish

QUOTE(jazzy939 @ Sep 17 2007, 07:02 PM)
Yep, that would be one of them or use the multimeter to match one end to another. tongue.gif

Wow, thanks for you guys valuable input! Cos those cables are pre-braid before reach my hand, will contact further with friend, hoping to bring in this so that our DIY fellow could get something different instead of good old canare smile.gif

Wow, this thread is in danger ... bump up!

Anyway, just found a factory manufacturing double shielded cable with 4 conductor braid and most important is they are pure silver smile.gif I'm waiting for price quotation back from them, hope that it could be priced around RM40~RM70 per meter which could still kinda affordable for DIYer, I know it's abit pricey compare to canare starquad which is only around RM7 but you are getting silver ... more detail, pinpoint separation ... Every Audiophile must try silver for once in their life long no-return journey biggrin.gif

I got silver sonic cable and i found it harsh and unrefined. It depends.....not all silver cables are of expectation. I personally prefer copper cables. The sound is less harsh and warm to this old man's ear. Just my 2 cents worth of thoughts yeah ppl tongue.gif smile.gif
*
yup, you are right! Silver may sounds harsh and unrefined but with more strand within a single conductor will going to sound less thin and harsh, while according to the factory those are multi strand conductor smile.gif Plus i think silver may needs longer run-in to see it's real color smile.gif

I'm sourcing for OCC copper cable too, but too bad most of reknown factory require huge amount to take order sad.gif

One noob question here, is it going to affect the overall sound if using different material as signal and ground, like silver plated copper used in signal while cooper used as ground?

i use the cheap ass solder....

ive never seen a solder as a connection...to me a connection should be the wire touching the plug... the solder is used to keep it that way so the thing doesnt move around tongue.gif
