strange, then it shouldn't will have any problem as long you soldered the correct wires.
*
i tried switching the wires around again and than I made sure no solder come in contact with each other as well. But sound still comes out fine when listening to music so i guess i,ll just leave it at that.

As a person who made a cable and tried it on my superlux 668b the signature definitely is different depending on cable. Canare gave my superlux more prominent female vocals which stood out more while stock cables made instruments stand out more.

When switching from cable to cable the sound change is instantly noticeable if you know the song well.

Hmm i guess so. Im in JB so.. sweat.gif haha! Lots of different types of materials and i think its just crazy how the prices can go up. Few hundered USD for an IC cable is too much.
I guess it makes sense. There has to be a limit on how much the electrons can transfer right? using pure copper is comparable to pure gold ? Maybe both will flow the same amount of electrons.
Maybe the stock cable is not as good. How about swtiching from a good custom cable to another good custom cable? Will there be differences.. ?
*
of course custom cable im unsure of because I don't have other cables, but the stock cable itself is good. If I wanted to hear more instrumentals i would use stock and if I want to hear vocals i will use the canare cable. It's all about what kind of signature you want what you want to hear and how it corresponds to your taste.

Yes custom cables from other people are expensive because your paying for materials and workmanship despite what people say, if you can make it yourself than no one will stop you. Audiophile stuff is very subjective lets just say there's no RIGHT answer. If someone spends 100USD and likes the change in sound than let them be. Some people dont hear the difference fine just dont buy the 100USD cable and go make a RM20 one instead.

Some people do hear the differences between expensive and non expensive cables but who are we to judge them since they are the ones hearing it, not everyone has the same hearing capabilities, everybody is different.

Cable makers like pcwork do a lot of tinkering trying out different cable types with different plugs with different headphones. Braiding, designing all of that hard work is done by them, than people go in and say "aiyah these stuff i also can make why so expensive", but the fact is that your just copying what you see inside you didnt take the time to test all the different types of cables and plugs not thinking about the hard work and passion that was put inside those cables.

You can see all the people who adore(not worship) PCWork because of his handywork, they are of really good quality and also looks wise they look really great.

after much hardwork and tenacity this is my end product happy.gif very extremely happy with this because it's my first time recabling a headphone wheeee!!!

Ignore the horrible braiding at the end because it was blardy hard to solder while braided...and the heatshrink there is from when i was stripping the insulation and metal weave protecting the cables D: but all in all totally worth it

I'm not sure whether this is the right thread to ask some question. It is about denon headphones.. I got myself a pair of denon AH-P372 which amazes me alot and worth more than the price it cost to buy it. Now when I search around the Internet, I do know some mods can be done, I done cotton and a little bit of Mark Mod, and now here comes a question. If I want to diy a 22~26 AWG pair of headphone cables for it, where can I find sleeves, jack and cable which consist of 4 wires? I searched around google and here for long time but yet can't find a specific place. Best place can be nearby Petaling Jaya, and the closing shop time ( cause I was Intern-ing). Thanks for answering my this question...

can try walking around jalan pasar they might have sleeves, i think ace hardware also has sleeving

@babyskiraz

id recommend sommer sc2025 for cable + amphenol ks3pb for jack

http://www.sommercable.com/2__produkte/2__...__320_0101.html

1- twin construction for sc2025 (can split neatly) so you wont need sleeve/heatshrink
2- black cable + black jack = profesional look
3- can source locally @ jln pasar
*
interested as well can use for RCA plugs and etc right? if it's 2 cables is there is no need to ground? Canare l4e6s is RM10/meter how much is this? sorry for noob questions xD still new

may i know where i can get an upgrade cable for Shure SRH840? its a 2.5 to 3.5 jack cable.. any DIY sifu here can make one for me? i will buy from you.. i just dont really like the coiled cable..

btw, siles1991 your drawing sweat.gif

At work so cacat draw only. Planning to terminate my y cable with mini female and 2 male(input and output) so connect the male straight into amp and than speaker into female. Theoretically should work right?

@un_id
whats wrong with the coiled cable?
if you really like a long messy uncoil cable id recommend you go down to jln pasar, buy 2.5mm & 3.5mm plugs and some cable from the same shop and ask them politely to make you the finished thingy, they gladly do it for mininum charge (rm5++)----probably cheaper than what most diy gurus will charge you,,,,,

@siles1991
id recommend you use 2 switches in your design

1- switch 1 for on-off ---to cut signal when you switch source
2- switch 2 for source A, source B

read rs components /farnell/ element14 catalogs for ideas of choice of swtiches in the market

there must be a premium switch that cut off signal when the switch triggered so with these you only need 1switch but im to sleepy to do research right now,,,,
*
so i shouldnt just let it be a constant signal to both? I can just turn off my speakers when im not using and control my headphones with the amp

I was initially planning to make something like this http://m.instructables.com/id/Mint-Box-Aud...witch/?ALLSTEPS but people say I can just use a Y split cable, and im not knowledgeable enough in electronics to add-on stuff D: I can only follow guides.

y splitter is good for your need, go for it--------
I misinterpreted your drawing/ thought youre planning 2 in/source, 1out design,,,,,,
*
So is it possible? Y cable that terminates into 1 female for speaker and 1 male to connect to amp?

all d besh siles1991, im sure your next project will be perfect
your past solder job was good also

for a steady/easy solder job id recommend a simple helping hands like this

[attachmentid=3387039]

cheapest ~ rm9 @ jln pasar

---------------

@blacklizard90

yes, sommer cable can be found @ jln pasar also

but I think ill go back to canare soon --------- better price/specs ratio

for the same ~rm5/mtr price of sommer isopod so-f22 (foil shield) we can get canare L-2T2S (braided shield)

while canare L-2B2AT (~ same specs as so-f22) only cost rm3.50/mtr
*
thanks i already have the helping hands haha.

where in jalan pasar can get the l-2b2at? I find l2t2s at IC electronics at RM10/mtr same as l4e6s
