Guys wanna ask if the Sony HTXT1 soundbase good?
cos i saw senq having promo at rm699 online

Saw the Yamaha Yas-107 selling at lazada. I read most of the reviews seems to be positive.

Want to ask for opinions or this soundbar compared with the Sony Ct-390 or ct-800

need some advise.
I bought the Yamaha YAS-107.
I can't seem to get the ARC setup working with my sony x8000d TV
I have set the bravia sync control to on but still unable to search the soundbar.

any ideas?

Here are my connections.

HyypTV to Sony HDMI 1.
Yamaha YAS-107 (HDMI out ARC) to Sony HMDI 3.
No input to YAS-107 HDMI in.

I can see from the source select menu on TV that HDMI 3 has a --> indicator shows detects something.
I can't seem to search for device.

Just to confirm again, the indicator on the soundbar should select HDMI or TV?

I tried the following.

Hypptv --> YAS-107 --> TV.
Select HDMI at the YAS-107, have picture and sound but not ARC. The sound is direct from Hypptv.

Select TV at YAS-107, have picture but no sound. Tried finding the device in the Bravia sync device list still not listed.

Ya. Bought at rm942 - Maybank RM15.
Later only decide whether want the sub or not. Now can't even get it to work properly.

Ya. I have check n got blue led. According to Yamaha no need to update already.

I tried swapping cables with the Hypptv stock hdmi cable and it is able to detect on the Bravia sync. 😵😵😵

Haha.... later first. Cos placed in bedroom. Limited space n no need so much bass first.

It seems my problem was not the HDMI cable. I have a very strange problem.

I disconnect all other HDMI connection except the HDMI 3 (ARC) to YAS-107 and reboot the TV.
The TV managed to detect the soundbar. Once I plugs in any other HDMI connection, the soundbar will be gone. Even if I plug into the soundbar HDMI in also, the sound bar will be disconnected.

I'm not sure what to do now.


***UPDATE : Found the root cause for the ARC problem. The HyppTV is messing up the Sony TV ARC. The workaround is to use an HDMI cable without the CEC (pin 13). I managed to bend and removed pin 13 from a cheapo HDMI cable and the soundbar ARC is functioning as intended. Alternatively a non headache solution, get a HDMI-to-DVI then DVI-to-HDMI converter which will remove the CEC.

Bro, that was nearly 1 year ago. Already solve it using CEC-less HDMI cable. 😅😅😅
