I see most soundbar has 3.5mm input. how's the amplification? i'm just a little worry that i need to crank the volume to max because the input is not a line level signal.
Has Soundbars Improved to Usable Levels?

Regarding soundbar that is connected to TV (Sony X7000E) via optical, is it possible to control the volume using the TV remote alone?

what's the cheapest soundbar that can accept 5.1 LPCM audio?
I have checked a few cheap models. they only accept standard Dolby/DTS 5.1, but not uncompressed LPCM. further search shows Nintendo Switch outputs LPCM surround sound.
