need some advise.
I bought the Yamaha YAS-107.
I can't seem to get the ARC setup working with my sony x8000d TV
I have set the bravia sync control to on but still unable to search the soundbar.

any ideas?

Using a bit similar setup, what is your source?
Mine UBP-X700 HDMI into YAS-207 and HDMI out into X8000E Arc.
No problem on mine.

What about any latest firmware update (IF ANY)?

ARC only works on Port 3.......try to connect your HDMI cable to port no 3

I have this problem with someone's desktop keep connecting via bluetooth while using HDMI ARC. I solved it via factory reset the MS650 soundbar. (So it won't remember the DESKTOP anymore).
To do it, I can't remember exactly which buttons to do factory reset(there are only few buttons there). But, it is pressing one or two buttons on the right side of the sound bar for 5-10 sec.

Just to share another problem I have with MS650. I am using soundbar HDMI ARC to connect to Samsung MU series TV. However, I faced stability problem. Sometimes, it stays at DIN instead of HDMI ARC.
To solve this, it was caused by the other HDMI cable from TV -> Media Player. I changed the HDMI cable from TV -> Soundbar , to Soundbar -> Media Player. It's all solid stable now.

Has Soundbars Improved to Usable Levels?

IMO,
I was using Sony DAV-DZ840K Home Theater 5.1 and changed to Samsung MS650.
As a comparison, the Sony DAV-DZ840K Home Theater 5.1 is far more superior than Samsung MS650, especially playing movies.
These two devices are about the same price.

MS650 does perform well in stereo music.

add on SWA-W700 subwoofer to your MS650

BTW, for those who plan to buy soundbar and would like to test it in-store...remember download the soundbar app to change the setting because normally you won't have the access to remote control and the soundbar setting could be messed up.

Yamaha: Home Theater Controller
(you might want to set the cinema dsp off, playback mode to different output, disable clear voice and enhancer, enable bass extension, subwoofer +1, tone control 0)

Samsung: Audio Remote
(you might want to set the subwoofer 0-3, standard sound mode, default equalizer or increase a bit on 150hz range)

Sony: Music Center (SongPal)
(you might want to set the sound mode to cinema)

LG: Music Flow Bluetooth
(you might want to set the subwoofer 0-3, standard or cinema or asc sound mode, bass and treble to 0)

Here are my connections.

HyypTV to Sony HDMI 1.
Yamaha YAS-107 (HDMI out ARC) to Sony HMDI 3.
No input to YAS-107 HDMI in.

I can see from the source select menu on TV that HDMI 3 has a --> indicator shows detects something.
I can't seem to search for device.

Just to confirm again, the indicator on the soundbar should select HDMI or TV?

SWA-W700 price is super high. No other cheaper version to pair with.
And, the SWA-9000S rear speakers is not for sale in malaysia.

I tried the following.

Hypptv --> YAS-107 --> TV.
Select HDMI at the YAS-107, have picture and sound but not ARC. The sound is direct from Hypptv.

Select TV at YAS-107, have picture but no sound. Tried finding the device in the Bravia sync device list still not listed.

Ya. Bought at rm942 - Maybank RM15.
Later only decide whether want the sub or not. Now can't even get it to work properly.

You tried Hypptv -> HDMI YAS-107 input -> HDMI YAS-107 output -> Sony TV HDMI ARC input? And YAS remote select HDMI.
Still no pic or sound?

Ya. I have check n got blue led. According to Yamaha no need to update already.

got try using other hdmi cable?

if still not working then u need temporary use optical connection lo...

I tried swapping cables with the Hypptv stock hdmi cable and it is able to detect on the Bravia sync. 😵😵😵
