For LG, you can set either follow the actual sound set where mostly firing up speaker don't have sound as that speaker only apply to Dolby Atmos or let every speaker always have sound. This some how simulate the Atmos setup even though no Atmos detect.

Another thing probably due to 3.1 never is standard as sound often configured as 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1

In my opinion, Yamaha YAS 207 sound is good but no way near the quality of LG SK9Y sound output.

Dolby or not is not very important to me as most of the time I playback via LPCM. The Dolby or DTS track will be encode by Apple TV 4K as multi channel LPCM and send over to soundbar. Thanks to the way Apple implement as I no need worried what kind of sound track it is as it is support all type of soundtrack to LPCM. This include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA.

Shop test is using demo disc, I didn't check the format.

JBL wise I had no idea as I haven't test yet.

As long your device support multi channel LPCM.

Yup but not TV out. Most TV not support lossless track.

This year or next year TV maybe will but required e-ARC also.

You are right in certain if the shop put in default setting. LG default setting is more emphasis on Treble where I not very like also.

The bass is very weak in default, you need to change the setting of woofer from 0 to 5 (max is 6), then it is freaking strong.

As for 2.0 track movies, only in Bass Blast+ or Movies setting make it sound decent. This thing I just notice recently, others preset sound bad when listing to 2.0 track movies.

I also just notice Bass Blast+ is actually the closer to Dolby Atmos sound setting on LG SK9Y.

I currently set as following (only show what is change from default)

- Preset set as Bass Blast+
- Bass +2
- Woofer +4
- Center +2
- Surround On

It can be adjust. I still adjusting as different show give different. I still try getting the most balance. Haha!

Below is the setting you can set (No setting when Dolby Atmos detect)

- Real Speaker Output (Original or Surround)

This sound bar cost RM 6.5k, if sound not ok then die lo

I think the problem should be solved by just connect your Q10 Pro to the sound bar HDMI-IN.

The differences is only around RM 600 now. I think it is not that huge different already.

I think it won't go down further more a lot, but instead stop production soon as SL10Y & SL9Y is already out in some country.

SL9Y (USD $ 999.99 = RM 4.1k) is not a replacement for SK9Y in my opinion as it is only 4.1.2.
SL10Y (USD $ 1299.99 = RM 5.4k) wise is the replacement for SK10Y.

Both new soundbar of SL9Y and SK10Y good point is support all kind of format include DTS:X & DTS-HD MA.

Is Lossless Track important? Yes and No, it depends on the device you use. Take for example my Panasonic 4K Blu-ray player only able convert to lossless PCM 2.0 or lossy DTS, then when format like DTS-HD MA not support, it will auto convert to lossy DTS or PCM 2.0 depends on your setting. Either format is impact to the actual sound output quality.

But my Apple TV 4K wise is convert all track except lossy Dolby Atmos but it is include lossless (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA) to lossless multi-channel LPCM up to 7.1 before send to my soundbar, in this case the support or not lossless track in soundbar is not that important. The cons of Apple TV 4K now is not support lossless Dolby Atmos in Dolby TrueHD but only lossy Dolby Atmos in Dolby Digital Plus and I already found player support lossy Dolby Atmos for local playback. The support of lossless Dolby Atmos is not possible unless Apple support it 1st.

By the way LG SK9Y is not perfect, below is need to take noted information I notice after testing around with different type of movies and soundbar preset.

• Adaptive Sound Control (ASC) output true 2.0 track for you if the track is 2.0, this means the woofer is like totally not working because the track is .0, this is the reason I change to others preset and re-test again.
• Movie preset is some how 50% louder than others preset, it is immersive but it got some issue in certain movie, I notice it sound very flat on Disney Animation (The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas). The sound flat I mean is missing the effect that suppose sound strong or singing part where suppose louder but it became softer. It also happen in movie like Ready Player One and Baby Driver where suppose strong effect part is instead became softer sound. Due to this issue, I won't use Movie preset any more.
• Woofer need to increase to at least +4 (I put +6), or else it is like no bass at all.
• Treble I turn down to -2 and Bass +2, I find this setting is the best balance.
• Center I turn to +1 to increase the vocal without impact the rest.
• Surround default is off, it is advise to turn on, this is required to make movie track 2.0 with surround feel and woofer bass. (Not working in ASC mode)
• Bass Blast+ is the best preset with strong immersive feel and it is also the default mode, in this mode no issue in any film, no more sound flat issue in Disney Animation and also movie like Ready Player One and Baby Driver.
• The preset will auto turn to Dolby Atmos preset when Dolby Atmos track detect, this is not an issue because it sound freaking awesome in Dolby Atmos without need of any setting adjustment.

No suprise since SL9Y is already selling at overseas country but SL9Y only 4.1.2, LG make more clear separation this time.

for 5.1.2 replacement, it is way up to SL10Y now.

From your TV spec here - https://www.lg.com/my/tvs/lg-55UH615T it is not support Dolby ATMOS. Means your Netflix at TV cannot run Dolby ATMOS track. LG only support Dolby ATMOS in OLED model.

As for your Mi Box is not support Netflix in Dolby ATMOS also. Means your Mi Box also cannot playback Netflix in Dolby ATMOS.

You won't received Netflix Dolby ATMOS signal from your TV or Mi Box even though you have a Dolby ATMOS SoundBar or Dolby ATMOS Home Theater System because you need to have a Netflix playback device that is support Dolby ATMOS. Off course they is still sound output as Netflix will turn to normal sound track.

It is very limited device support Netflix Dolby ATMOS track.

As for YouTube wise, YouTube not support Dolby ATMOS track. Those Demo in YouTube did not run in Dolby ATMOS track.

I suggest you get the Yamaha YAS-207 as that one closer to your budget and still sound nice.

Just treat Atmos as additional advantage plus.

If budget is not an issue, go for Atmos soundbar, it is added benefits and more future proof.

Also Dolby Atmos soundbar is support all Dolby format.

Of course beside support, sound quality is important factor as well.

If you ask me, I will recommended LG SK9Y which is already in your previous listing, I am using it, Haha! RM 2k. Original release is RM 4k++, probably due to new version is out soon, it is freaking cheap now, another reason maybe sales not good due to the default setting bass like missing.

This sound bar is fantastic after you did some adjustment on it, especially increase the woofer to maximum +6, it is freaking strong bass after this changes.

Original setting of 0 in woofer make the bass very weak, I don't know why LG tune like that, maybe the person tune it don't like bass. Haha!

If you want more level up, then LG SL10Y (not yet in Malaysia market), or Samsung harman kardon hw-n950. But both price at +/- RM 5k.
This two model support all kind of sound format include Dolby Atmos and DTS: X.

Another can consider is JBL 3.1 Soundbar which around RM 2.2k, I haven't test yet but from all user here that own it or test it said very awesome.

In this case you must increase your budget to RM 2.2K, then you can choose either JBL Bar 3.1 or if you still interesting with LG SK9Y, trust me the woofer is freaking strong, just the person tune it wrongly in default setting which make the bass like never exist.

Do this setting and try again.

The Sony Z9F got everything include DTS:X but it is extra RM 1k, Sony sound quality never need to be doubt, it always great.

As for SK10Y is extra RM 2k with Meridian Technology, still no DTS:X, LG only new series this year came with DTS:X, this include SL10Y and SK9Y.

Hi support full RGB HDR or 4.4.4 HDR. In short maximum colour HDR is support.

This is very important because to get any lossless sound you need connect your device to soundbar HDMI-IN.

Connect device to TV and ARC to soundbar only support lossy sound.

If not support HDR, then your visual will have problem where only can out SDR.

HDMI ARC is useless as it not support lossless sound.

Unless the soundbar is using latest eARC, then support lossless but in this case your TV also need to support eARC. Basically only this year high end model support eARC.
