what would you recommend for 10k budget?

currently having a sony A80L tv, and a bit pulled into the sony marketing if use sony sound bar can use the TV's audio as center channel or something like that.

is it better to just get a proper audio set up instead of sound bar (have zero knowledge and experience with 'home theater').

mainly watching youtube, netflix, mostly anime, but will restart watching backlog movies

how bad the bass if i just get the HT-A9 without the sub?

Well depend on what movie u watched, if like Micheal Bay's movie where he like to boom boom boom, then you are missing some parts. For dialogue it's there... if just watch tv then should be not much is missing...

of course home theater is better as I understand in term of sound quality, surround. Soundbar is just less hassle as less wiring and easier to setup. Only need power supply wiring.

Soundbar is selling everywhere whereas it is sunset for home theater system.

common people want easier solution, simpler and minimalistic approach. just put that thing under the tv and you're done.

as for me myself prefer soundbar , prefer simple and better sound quality then standard tv speakers , no doubt home theater system definitely the best

I still wonder how the soundbar can mimic the rear speaker function by "firing" the sound from the front speaker.

Mostly won't work, best is to add on rear speakers.

That up firing meant to be bounce for virtual top sound.
the virtual rear is from side bounce.

but yeah.. doesn't really work well.. unless u have 'perfect' square room with non obstruction.

So ppl are lowering the expecation of good sound system for not getting the real surround sound it should be.

still can get those soundbar with external rear speakers.. mostly wireless now.. but still need power input.. unless those fully wireless with rechargeable rear speakers..

Hi, anyone can recommend soundbar for small room use? Actually just want to make it sound better than TV speaker, but dont have much room for small bookshelf cos is small place only.

Im looking at sonos beam, but not sure shud spend that much or not. Another yamaha x40a seems okay also. Probably around 2-3k? Or probably can recommend like 1k can get wat, 2k can get what, 3k can get what.

Ah, i still plan go harvey norman have some audition first lol. But seems like beam is the best midrange soundbar.
