Sony HTA9 can be demo at sony lalaport outlet inside the 360 exp room.

Unfortunately no sub available to pair with in the demo room and I’m not sure if it is properly setup because I’m not impressed with sound quality.

Last time when I listened to sennheisser ambeo, it was a jawdropping experience. Night & day difference between the two.

Thinking to get Sony HT-S20R for my small hse.. Setup using TV box Bluetooth to this... Is it recommended?
Or any alternative to consider? My budget not much 300-700 not sure can I get decent sound system or not?

Did demo an LG SN8Y at Harvey norman and it sounds dissapointing, lack of clarity and bass not good.

Any better soundbar for budget under 2.8k?

Currently have 5.1 Sony DAV-DZ650. But this one less than rm1k home theater system. Not sure if newer 2k+ soundbar nowadays is better that this or not..

I am using the its predecessor, SL8Y, and definitely not as you described.
Have you play around the sound mode and speakers setting? Perhaps it was set on default.

Didnt play with the settings as it was just a short demo inside the harvey norman store connected to my phone's bluetooth.

The review on their website itself doesn't seem good. Many broken just after few months of use, perhaps your model which is the older one had better quality.

Your current unit having problem? Else better don't change. I been survey soundbar to replace my old HTiB too, within the same price range all . (not those higher range 2k and above).

Yes my current unit is dead.. but i think its only the dvd player that is dead, cant find any replacement part for it.. without the dvd player the speakers all cant function

I see. My old Pioneer unit dead too. Quite sad, been survey so many shop can't find replacement too.
End up I bought SONY old model set, at least have FM, can play hdd USB movie, bluray & etc.

hi guys ... I'm looking to get a soundbar.. Hv shortlisted Q700A (3.1.2) (RM2297) and S40r (5.1) (RM1399). Just tested out both these sound bars in store however seems both sound more or less the same. However, s40r volume needs to be above 60 to hear dialogs clearly but Q700A 30 plus can hear dialogs clear.

Any last piece of advice before i pull the trigger ?

Not to spoil anything but what about a used sub-1K AV amp with 2 sub-1K speakers as a basic system?

Went to lalaport Sony last week to tried out.
Yes, it’s now paired with 200w sub. It’s impressive.
But u won like it if without sub

Samsung 2022's Q990B Soundbar will be released soon. Looks like it is significantly improved by replacing fabric with metal grill and changed the display from top to front.

Retail price RM6499? Current Q950A priced around 3.8k.

Recommeded retail price only… Q950A's RRP is RM6499 too.

The price tag of Q990B should be around RM4k+ at the retail store, similar with Q950A when it was launched last year. Harvey Norman listed Q990B on its website already, RM4799.

Whats the price for a decent budget soundbar nowadays?

What is the definition of a "budget soundbar" ? <1000, <2000 or <4000 ?

I suppose for tech, sometimes we get what we pay for. So for a decent soundbar, whats the minimum to fork out?
