yeah I think you hit the nail with this word, it does feel arcadish the moment I started playing

but certain improvements I instantly noticed,

- no more blurring of screen when getting shot
- handling of tanks and planes feels easier compared to bf 3
- additional environmental effects
- finally can click on the map points, vehicles and squad mates
- still maintains decent fps performance to my pleasant surprise

also there's a bit more added variety with boats and gunships, and a new Chinese faction to learn some Mandarin.

on one occasion you could be walking around the island admiring the scenery, and the next thing you'll be on your buddy's jetski riding through the incoming storm, the sky turns dark and the trees start swaying violently, the pacing still feels fresh and ever-changing.






for the negs,

- maps like Lancang Dam is too buggy atm, sound keeps silencing like you got hit by a flashbang every few secs
- still can't text chat at end of game lobby, because sometimes we like to say GG or talk craps for the 30 secs of painful waiting D:

I'm glad I didn't get any MP crashes yet despite all the warnings from amazon reviews that got me worried

For those i3 owners out there, don't let the quad core requirements scare you, it still plays wonderful on MP

hmm im not getting any stuttering or audio loop yet, I didn't mess with any of the GPU settings and played with whatever they recommended

haven't bothered trying on the laptop since I hate gaming on laptop, but maybe i should just to test out

what OS are you playing on?

we need to find a map like noshahr canals and kill each other quickly for levelling up

hmm no idea if these are the causes, is this problem happening in campaign as well?

just tested on the i3 laptop with basic nvidia gpu, it auto-crashes on 314.22 *gasp* but the latest driver fix it immediately

no stutter at all and decent performance with the gpu being the a huge b-neck as usual

both machines are tested on SSD's only though, haven't tried on hdd yet

what browser were you using? try sticking to IE for battlelog alone

also try as many SG servers as you can, the server side software is still buggy

my blood was shooting up to 80c when I emptied a clip on someone's back and he did a 180 and killed me

netcode nightmare is very real

seems like a forward-backward patch,

feels like I'm getting fps improvements but the server side crashes the client on map completion

hmmm I've seen this one, didn't understand what they meant cause my ping goes below 20 (feels kinda fake though)

lol i was staring at the same thing too, i thought my and sg are rebelling against bf 4 and gone back bf 3

i think the game got a lot worst after patch up, BF 3's online experience still run circles around bf 4

they SHOULD NOT have released the game so soon, but that's life these days with all the kids pre-ordering...

30 usd if you actually bothered to visit other threads in 'Battlefield Series' besides this one.

darn, wish there was no patch at all, was having fun for the past few days, now I come home to a completely non-working game.

big hoo-hah in battlelog forums as well regarding the scope

ping is insanely overrated in this game

I get <20 ms but I know very well any other player that see's me had started shooting 0.5 to 1 sec before I manage to see them.

The only way to counter this poor form of netcoding is not to sprint when nearing enemies, sprinting somehow causes other person's PC to render your character at the position before you have rightfully arrived at it, so they actually see your character first and started left clicking already but on your screen you appear to be 0.5-1 sec late to see him while you're sprinting towards. It's like some sort of crappy prediction coding. Often on your screen you always see yourself shooting first but in a burst of fast forward mode, you die to your opponent and he barely gets damaged, mostly undamaged even.

it's hard to explain this but you'll know it the more you play.

the other crappy problem that get's on my nerves is the 1 hit death. I know it's not really one hit from AR/Carbines, it's because the bullets came out at a fast rate and they all are confirmed hits but DICE screw up the netcode somehow and your PC only renders a 1 hit sound when you die. Still, you'll be constantly wondering wtf is happening

third would be the aiming reticle constantly disappearing. If it does disappear, remember to spam Q again. I found this solution from reading battlelog forums gamers suggestions, DICE don't even address the issue. The worst part of this problem? It seems when pistols reticle disappears spamming Q won't bring it back till your next life D:

and fourth is the hit detection, you could miss all your bullets when shooting point blank, but it doesn't really happen all the time, and it could have existed since BF 3. But because in BF 3 you're screen often blurs from suppression, most gamers don't actually know that they are experiencing this problem or get annoyed by it. Now that everything is clear as day, we can see how truly broken an FPS game can be. The best way to counter this is to relax your gun for 1 second then start shooting again and the hits will register as normal.

again very bad netcoding, it happens in BF 3 as well but not as rampant and obvious.

the bullet hit registers later even after death, and when you could still run back into the corner to hide, chances are you already got shot and will continue to suffer the bullet damage while hiding and eventually die (reminds me of poison damage in RPG games)

there is a LOT more occurences of double K'O in BF 4 and this tends to annoy you or favor you depending on where you stand in terms of aiming capability. One way to counter this effect is to pick really high RPM guns or high one shot damage (e.g full shotgun hit). The AEK is really good at disposing off your enemies quickly before their slower RPM guns can register some bullets to chase after you.

it's been around since BF 3, but it's much more obvious and occurs frequently in this BF version.

it's like watching a Tarantino gunfight showdown gone bad...

update worked fine, game still has the same problems as before so don't really know what those 888mb fixed. I'm just quite upset that flood zone is getting laggier after every patch compared to day 1...

try switching browsers to log into game, or try to reinstall b-log plugin

filter out your country to asia and click on ping to get all SG servers to the top of the list, this is where all local gamers would be hanging out.

it seems DICE had visited some US servers to activate the easter egg and he did mention everyone else should be able to see it on the same time as well to create a WTF moment
