Former DICE Dev Points Finger at EA for Battlefield 4′s Issues
QUOTE Former DICE Dev Points Finger at EA for Battlefield 4′s Issues http://www.craveonline.com/gaming/articles...ield-4-s-issuesIf you’re going to be upset, be upset at the right person. ![]() Interestingly enough, Battlefield 4 might be the best shooter of the year at the same time it's also one of the most unpolished. Its issues with severe crashing and progress loss have caused gamers to fire at its developer, DICE, but it may not be the right company to yell at. A departed gameplay designer of DICE has arrived to defend his former place of work from the mass backlash it's been receiving. On Twitter he's posted a series of replies to upset gamers, a few of which are the following: "It is getting better, but too much is broken and needs fixing. Not enough time to fix it all "Outcry over a retweet, response: I support the devs at DICE fully and acknowledge their hard work and efforts. Problem is higher than devs! " "Thing is – for consumers, it doesn't matter where the problem lies. But yup, corporate level and dev takes a hit He might not point his finger directly, but it's clear he's talking about EA. EA is, after all, in charge of funding and development at DICE. It gets to choose when a game is published, and has a choice to give extra time for development, which it didn't in the case of Battlefield 4 and dozens of other games. Rushing products out the door isn't something new for EA, either. As one user perfectly argued on NeoGAF, EA's entire line-up in 2013 has been controversial in one way or another. SimCity's disastrous launch is one example, as is Dead Space 3's self-destruction. Battlefield 4 was just the holiday finale for what seems to be a cruel ongoing joke. Thankfully, EA has a chance to prove it's a company that values consumers with its upcoming releases of Star Wars Battlefront and Mirror's Edge 2. There's a lot riding on these two releases alone so hopefully the developers are given the time they require. |

QUOTE(tshin810 @ Dec 18 2013, 12:51 PM) QUOTE(Jimsee @ Dec 18 2013, 03:29 PM) Yup. That's the problem. But the real problem also lies on the AH . Seriously the cool down time for flare/ecm jammer takes forever .. And the gunner splash damage has been nerfed down. but the flight sensitivity is bind with land vehicle turret sensitivity, if put highest then when you become tank or IFV gunner your turrent will turn like crazy because of the sensitivityIt seems Dice favours infantry more than vehicles.. When i fly AH, i want to feel like badass killing machine but in game scenario it's my ass that kena whacked heavily by IGLA/Stinger/Straw watever name they called it so far i can only manage by leaving sensitivity at default then then inside IFV or tank gunner i lower my mouse DPI to 800 for easier aim |

QUOTE(tshin810 @ Dec 18 2013, 07:32 PM) but still you need to switch dpi every time which i find it a hassle, especially if you want to get out of the tank that is going to explode and quickly engaging enemy nearby you after you get out of the tankif there is an independent control for on-foot, air and land/naval vehicle sensitivity there it would be great |

QUOTE(ykgen @ Dec 20 2013, 12:49 AM) that's true about m16a4.. it fires burst.. 3 rounds per shot.. you have to wait until at least the second round is fired to fire smoothly.. otherwise gun will jam.. so it is intentional? i thought is a bug m16 is good thing yo, very easy to get kill and quite stable with muzzle brake |
