wrong . what they mean by f2p in rift is basically the trial version of the game... its clearly state at the support and Q&A that you can SUBSCRIBE the game..and something like a founder pack... clearly the new so called "F2P" player is at disadvantages.... I read there is a limit too in f2p gameplay experience but I forgot..go read the official site.....I'm not lieing
so what I'm saying is if you want play competative pvp on rift you got to pay for the subscrition or the founders pack.. so you can upgrade you chracter.. but if you just casual and like pve.. then, there is no problem.. but they is still limit on how much gold you can collect... or whatever the currency is in rift...
First of all ,you clearly have not played the game enough , or many Big budget MMO that went F2P for that matters.
When they went F2P , they do require income to sustain the game development . And of course if everything offered by the F2P store is merely trivial, who is going to buy anything ?
How exactly do you expect F2P to stay alive ?
When you pay for the subscription or founder pack obviously you are going to at least gain a little more advantages , such as bank slots, less restriction on chat etc etc.
This had happened in many many games, AION , SWTOR , TERA , TSW . And if you are free , feel free to get to their respective website and check out the restriction , some of them are actually
devastating to the gameplay ,they don't even give you enough skill slots to use your skills if you don't pay at one time. Atleast I have yet to see anything as such in RIFT, yet.
http://www.riftgame.com/en/play-for-free/ , compare this with
http://www.swtor.com/free/featuresI have read those F.A.Q long enough that I actually bought the game before all of them went F2P , so I can pretty much tell you right here and right now , R.l.F.T isn't much of a PAY2WIN game
( in comparison with others )
