Agree with @Convael, cause this game's item management, is pretty much same like what you get from WoW, where is will be bind once equip, so practically, you can collect the tiers but you cannot sell the tiers.

you using the cash is just to buy outlook, something like maple, just show off you have money, not to win the game.

1 more thing to mention, there is not job specific, is totally depends on your own imagination, so if lets say you have godly item, but if you don't know how to play, you will also lose.

the definition of pay2win is differ from a person to other person.
take for example an exp boost potion that can only be bought in cash shop.
some people will say that this is pay2win but some other people will say it's not since you can also gain more exp by playing more.
so it's not entirely wrong when some people say that Rift is a pay2win game.

Yes i do understand the point of view from you, but to be honest this do not prove that you will win, cause no matter what you still need to have your equipment to be in the count, to be honest the only person which can be excuse saying this would be a pay 2 win game, is a person which didn't know how WoW works.

Nobody said it was wrong , in fact I was saying compare to many other games that have recently gone F2P ( for example SWTOR ), the P2W rating on RIFT isn't high at all .

You are bringing an extremely mundane example to explain the case , which pretty much can be used for every generic statement out there , since every opinion can be subjective .
But if you live in the human world, compare it within the industry standard then you will get a pretty accurate judgement.

wrong . what they mean by f2p in rift is basically the trial version of the game... its clearly state at the support and Q&A that you can SUBSCRIBE the game..and something like a founder pack... clearly the new so called "F2P" player is at disadvantages....  I read there is a limit too in f2p gameplay experience but I forgot..go read the official site.....I'm not lieing

so what I'm saying is if you want play competative pvp on rift you got to pay for the subscrition or the founders pack.. so you can upgrade you chracter.. but if you just casual and like pve.. then, there is no problem.. but they is still limit on how much gold you can collect... or whatever the currency is in rift...

First of all ,you clearly have not played the game enough , or many Big budget MMO that went F2P for that matters.

When they went F2P , they do require income to sustain the game development . And of course if everything offered by the F2P store is merely trivial, who is going to buy anything ?
How exactly do you expect F2P to stay alive ?

When you pay for the subscription or founder pack obviously you are going to at least gain a little more advantages , such as bank slots, less restriction on chat etc etc.
This had happened in many many games, AION , SWTOR , TERA , TSW . And if you are free , feel free to get to their respective website and check out the restriction , some of them are actually
devastating to the gameplay ,they don't even give you enough skill slots to use your skills if you don't pay at one time. Atleast I have yet to see anything as such in RIFT, yet.

http://www.riftgame.com/en/play-for-free/ , compare this with http://www.swtor.com/free/features

I have read those F.A.Q long enough that I actually bought the game before all of them went F2P , so I can pretty much tell you right here and right now , R.l.F.T isn't much of a PAY2WIN game
( in comparison with others )

yes im being generic there.
im saying that as a normal user point of view and not as an expert or enthusiast of mmo world.
im not saying that my opinion is right or hold true for all people.
it only as an agent for devil advocate.

with that being said, i also still downloading but already started playing Rift.
just got to lv10 but i already loss interest.
now thinking whether to finish my download and continue playing or not.
the class job thing is exciting but somewhat complicated and overwhelm for some new player like me.
in the end i just let the system assign the point automatically.. haha tongue.gif
