I use Adobe Acrobat with Chinese language packs support. Is this Adobe Acrobat used by this way ( OCR )?
Are they any programme/apps better than Adobe Acrobat?
Mind to share your experiences?

For software enquiry, go here :-

https://forum.lowyat.net/Software

Usually I use the free OCR software (OmniPage) that came with my scanner.

OmniPage is the first OCR software run on pc, and I believe it still quite popular.

Free OCR :-

Is Adobe Acrobat considered as OCR or not?
Does ABBYY FineReader support Chinese ( simplified and traditional )?

Acrobat can convert (OCR) a text image file or scanned image to searchable PDF.

A true OCR software able to convert a text image or scanned image to text, Microsft Word and other kind of format (editable)

I believe it can't.
You can try since I don't have Adobe Acrobat.

Yes it can but Acrobat still has it's limitations compared to Finereader such as multiple language support

If you are looking for mobile app OCR, I've just uploaded an Android app in google play store..

Free and don't need to buy scanner, just snap a photo and extract the text smile.gif
