Was thinking about this also.. im sure many of us have gained much experience raiding with ppl all over the world.
However, im not entirely convinced that a move of all m'sians to a single server is something im looking forward to. From experience.. most Malaysians lack the character and ethical standards of mmorpg players around the world. Given that this is an unwarranted stereotype, does "WTFKNNCCBPKMLU...take my item ah?!?! Want to fight ?!? Where u live, i come find you now !!!" sound farmilliar? Having played Dragonraja (malaysian mmo) and some other Malaysian games, much of the gaming community in Malaysia is plagued by immature, insensitive, intolerant and unethical players. Therefore, based on that assumption, while the gathering of M'sian players on 1 server will be good for raiding times, there will be some negative implications as well. Its just a matter of balancing what is more important to you before making the choice. My 2c anyway. Comments? |

I agree. After playing the MMOs that are hosted by our local servers... it leaves much to be desired of the online community.
There are only a handful who are mature, sensitive, tolerant and ethical players. Mind you, I'm not talking about age here. A gathering of the "good" players is a blessing. And to add the fact that those "bad" players will shame our community on the server. Remember its still not a "malaysian" server - it is still in the US. If WoW does open a SG/Msia server, I wouldnt step into it. |

It's good to have separate timezone communities in one server, spreads the load.
Imagine 5 Malaysian guilds in BWL at the same time? Super DC time! |

Like the guys have said here, the first impression of local gamers is immature, irresponsible, and lack of a decent command of english which is essential in international mmorpgs (no offense, but it's my personal experience playing a locally hosted mmorpg for a while now).
Playing WoW in a NA server has been a great experience with mature, responsible, outgoing, friendly people, not to mention being able to talk comfortably with them. I wouldn't want to transfer my level 60 characters to a Malaysian server. I'd just start a new toon for the fun of it. |

lol... thinking about the eq loot in a party... "greed" button will cease to exist when as we know most Malaysian is great at ninja or more traditional way... "curi" item that is drop... we'll see everybody just kept on pressing the "need" button instead of greed even thou it's not suppose to be for them...
And yes... not to mention the old good thing that happen to most MMORPG's based in malaysia... virtual stuff sells for RM... you bet on it... it WILL happen... nvm... i've having fun with the server i'll join rite now and NEVER step foot in Malaysia/Singapore base server even thou they have one with a lower ping... that's in not tempting.... at least for me... |

Well, my thought will be mostly those Ah Beng will only exist on those free base MMORPG, if not, the paid for the MMORPG might be cheaper than those normal one. WOW is quite an expensive game for Ah Beng to join in, so it 'filter' out most of the Ah Beng out there.
From my experince at least from my server, the Malaysians who play WOW mostly mature enough, they mostly are working people who can afford WOW as their favorite pass time. Still, i agree with all of the points that giving out. That's why i play NA version of WOW at the first place. |
