One parent with HA will do, but even so, there's still a chance that the baby will get a normal ability instead of HA.

there's a chance to get it... the same doesn't applies to male with HA but female with normal ones... to have a chance to get offspring with HA when parent is HA male, you need to breed with ditto only

If you trained both Dragonites against the same foes, the differences in stats is due to the IV's, not the gender.
IVs is numbers given to all Pokemon when caught or hatched. They range from 0-31 and increases the stat of a Pokemon by that number. It will be most noticeable at Lv 100 but it is very much present at lower levels.
Your female Dragonite most likely have better IVs than the male, resulting in it having better stats.

Haha. I admit, my 3 biggest fear in battling right now is Ferrothorn, Quagsire, and Rotom-W cuz I don't have a proper counter against them (especially Ferrothorn if my Talonflame KOed).
