Splinter is the ultimate desktop utility and customizer, and is the world's first "truly" imagery based programming "language"

Splinter uses hotlinked real-time still imagery in motion to, effectively, give you interactive wallpaper that transforms the desktop interface into a new medium that artistically and functionally blends the book, film, video game, and internet mediums into one platform and location, the desktop environment.

Here are some sample splinterfaces. All splinterfaces can be downloaded from my deviantART gallery. Splinter download links are below.

Rainmeter in no way can match Splinter's utilitarian or interactive entertainment functionality. The diversity of splinterface genres turns the desktop environment into an entirely new and limitless medium, capable of interfaces that no software, RM or any other, are able to create.

Plus, on the RM front, a top three list of its greatest weaknesses. These are all areas that Splinter excels and is specifically contrasted by design.

1. RM is a monitoring app, with icon hotlinking / file launching a vague second thought.
2. RM is heavy with resources, very resource intensive
3. RM is relatively complex to create with (requires actual coding, the average end user cannot create a RM skin)

It is interfaces like shown in the following video that really set Splinter apart from all others. This is just one example of many interface genres that can be created with Splinter. This one is an educational desktop wiki database about the solar system. It is a screen recording of my interaction with the desktop, sped up a bit to fit more material into the video. There is normally audio narration to go along with the text on screen, as well.

OK...it is fine that you think your software is better than what rain meter doing now,and i get your point...but still, pay a visit to place like http://www.reddit.com/r/desktops
or even 4chan /wg/,and ask whatever they agree with your software.
Just my 2 cent.

Yeah, the problem with that is that people opine without having any idea what Splinter is. I already have a ton of positive feedback, Splinter isn't "new'. 300K downloads and is the number one rated OS/Shell Enhancement software on freewarefiles.com. People tend to get hooked once they run it and running it is the only way to understand how it works and how powerful it is.

I get your point, it is valid. I didn't realize that I made this thread seem as though Splinter is "new" software looking for feedback.

No. Splinter has nothing to do with OS start-up time
