Hello guys,

Actually I took my IELTS before at British Council - KL and I scored 5.5 even though I have scored at the Reading and Listening 6.5 and 6.0 respectively (I know it wasn't good enough but that was entirely my fault since I didn't have enough sleep the night before which has resulted on bad performance with my L,R and W) .

The issue here was with my speaking test module (it was in a different day), I consider myself as "good" speaker since is everyday routine to speak in English, badly I have scored band 5.0 which doesn't make sense to me at all but I understand why. That day at the British Council I was just disappointed by the examiners attitude toward me, that has turned me down, thus resulted on the poor performance with my speaking module even though I was pretty confident that I'd be able to score at least band 7.0.

However, I'd like to retake my IELTS exam, but this time I'd like to avoid British Council since I don't want to remember the bad speaking module fairy tales last time. I am now considering IDP Subang Jaya since is fairly near to my house, do you guys recommend this center base on the examiners there? Are they more tolerant toward the speaking module and perhaps the writing module?

Thanks a lot !

Just score on the other parts

..my Speaking score was low, but the other parts like writing, reading and listening managed to pull my marks back up. biggrin.gif

Yup, I went to british council. The marks for my writing was high. I think that they are a bit lenient on that matter.

Just buy the IELTS book and do all the exercises . It helped a lot.

For speaking , the problem for me was being too nervous. I was not confident enough to speak. Try practice speaking in front of a mirror.

Well practice makes perfect.

hi guys..

i'm just wondering.. does IELTS help you to increase speaking skills professionally? i mixed around with professional society and they have excellent communication skills and i just wanted to blend in comfortably.

most of the time i just keep quiet when go meeting with my boss because i don't wanna look stupid nor to embarrass myself. please advise icon_question.gif
