if u lucky, ur set don have purple tint...just red spot

If you are lucky you will get a problem free camera. Mine after replacement no longer has purple tint nor pink spot, etc. Works well as it should.

Can anyone verify this?

On the camera, then fully cover the lens with your hand & look at the screen..

If the screen shows black color = no problem, buy it!
If the screen shows pink color = problem, don't buy it!

Is this test working?
*
Yup, it works. Manually set the ISO to 1600 to be sure.

Also dont use just one finger to cover the lens. It will show up red as some light will actually shine through your finger (yes, you're more transparent than you think). Cover with your entire palm or some black cloth.

good suggestion... those with the experience pls do share with us smile.gif I'm scared of hard bricking my device... rather not claiming the faulty camera than having a hard brick from reverting to S-ON...  sweat.gif

You did read the fair share of warnings before deciding to S-OFF, unlock bootloader or some other kind of stuff right?

Next time, record the conversation. It might be useful in the case you go for a tribunal. Also, note down the date, time and case number, as well as the name of the operator that you spoke to.

Then fire off an email bomb to the top HTC guns. They will make sure your case gets escalated and you get proper service.

In my opinion, unless you're staying in Klang Valley, avoid HTC products like the plague...

I have a perfectly working camera without any pink spot or purple hue after getting a replacement phone from HTC.

As an aside, I'm selling off my HTC ONE as I'm now on the fruity phone I bought while waiting for HTC to sort things out.

Opening for my fellow users here first. RM 1300 Firm. Almost brand new. Comes with all accessories in a box (IMEI on box and warranty card does not match as the phone was replaced and has a new IMEI). COD in Penang or KL (this weekend only).

Put your claim in for the phone and costs. Your time and fuel and toll travelling to and fro from the service center, your claim filing costs too.

The supervisor said mine will be courier out today and will receive the phone by tomorrow. my tribunal already and the hearing is on 9th january.
Wonder what to do now ?
*
Get the phone, test it kaw kaw till the 9th. If you're satisfied, go on the 9th and tell the judge you're happy with it and wish to withdraw.

If its still broken, bring to the hearing, and show the judge that their repair sucks and demand your money back.

I think I will go for replacement then, since it is still within 14 days time frame. But just want to ask for you guys opinion, when I get the 2nd unit, they said that every unit also like that, just no matter open how many box will also be like that, is it true? sad.gif

I guess I have to trade in for another model. Maybe One Max. Another few hundred gone if so. sad.gif
*
If all units like that, ask for refund. If they don't want give, then go file for tribunal.

Yes, the camera problem is widespread, and after sales service is crap. Please tell her to stay away from this phone.

I also wondering why the court case must go to dealer but not HTC? The problem is from HTC but not dealer. HTC is happy enough once their defect phone goes to dealer, they dont need to bear any responsibilities. hmm.gif
*
That is how the small claims work. Your business was with the seller, not HTC. Likewise, the seller does business with HTC distie. They should go after the HTC distie. And only the distie has locus standi to go after HTC itself.

Complicated, but thats sadly how the law works.

Same answer 3 times..........we will contact you for an update

Do an Executive Email Carpet Bomb. Google for HTC's top executive email addresses, then bomb them with an email. Will solve your problem much faster.

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Jan 23 2014, 01:54 PM)
So I brought my father to lowyat to replace his HTC desire to Moto g last Tuesday. He contemplated with an xperia z1 while waiting for the stock to arrive around 6pm. I had to go back earlier and to my surprise, he bought a silver htc one 32GB.

That night, we noticed the camera gives purplish discolouration on low light. This is unacceptable. I went on xda-dev and there is 60+ pages of camera problem thread. This must be a widespread issue.

So we went back to the shop at lowyat and hoped for a replacement. The guy didn't ask much, he went somewere else and got a replacement unit but it is a red colour!

Unfortunately, the camera purplish discoloration is still present. The shop refuses to swap back my father's original silver unit. He suggested us to got to htc service centre.

We went there and the lady at the desk told is it is a problem that has persisted since launch. Swapping with a different unit would not make a difference. That is puzzling from HTC side. I'm sure HTC awares of such problem and should work to getting a working camera module to replace the defective one.

So we sent the red htc one for repair. We were promised for collection this coming Monday around lunch time.

tldr: defective camera. HTC gives no **** about it.

You can wait, or email the HTC top guns and demand a quicker resolution, or file a small claims in the Consumer Tribunal.

Hi guys,

I've looked through the thread and in your opinion,

(1) Is it better to personally bring to the service centre or have the courier pick it up? I was thinking I should personally collect it from SC to make sure purple tint is resolved?

(2) Will they provide you with a temporary phone to use while repairs are ongoing?

(3) Do they give you a refurbished set after the warranty claim?

Thanks a lot!
*
1. Send it in personally if you're in KL area. Not a choice for many of us outside KL.

2. Yes, if they have loaners still available. Might not be the same phone though (older models).

3. I got a new replacement after 2nd send in. Some people got their camera module replaced. Never heard of refurbs before. YMMV here.

Hi, I would like to file a Tribunal before sending my HO to BTS after cny. However, I have lost my receipt for the purchase of my HO on May 2013 from maxis.

2 questions:

1) any solutions for my case assume that I can't find my receipt. Can still file Tribunal? Request from maxis? Is it possible? Or any other suggestions?

If there is a solution for question 1:
2) since I bought HO from maxis with the surfmore75, I was able to get the phone for around rm1500. So if file Tribunal, what amount should I put, the retail price or the price I actually paid? But it is quite unfair if I claim rm1500 because I am still stuck with the maxis surfmore75 plan and rm1500 can't buy me a similar high end phone right?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

U can ask for RM1500, plus the early termination fee required, or in lieu of that fee, waive the termination cost to you. Ask for that, in addition to the RM 1500 you paid for the phone.
