QUOTE(gleko @ Jun 10 2008, 03:44 PM) Give the tofu a miss, it is not a very good food and is not a substitue for decent protein, at best it is incomplete protein. At worst it mimics female hormones and for someone trying to build muscle that has got to be a no no Beef is great, no doubt about it, bit if you want to increase natural hormones nothing beats eating lots of eggs, you can alternate daily or weekly, I go for three weeks or so eating lots of eggs then ease off a bit, I also ease off on weekends when I don't work out. Alrite, will think about skipping tofu. I checked the box and that whole thing only constitutes to only 13.8 grams of protein. Much more dissapointing than eating 4 slices of wholemeal bread. But as I bulk, taking out rice in the equation should be ok rite?I mean, I dun feel like having much of it, but just to tell the body to utilise the carbs first, then take away the fats I'm eating in.

@iceypain, if that is ur only research that u find regarding eggs, its really suggested that you read and find about more. Its not really encouraged to base ur opinions on 1 research, its like putting all your eggs into 1 basket. If the whole thing drops, you might have to fork out for new protein source.

QUOTE(sanesaint @ Jun 13 2008, 12:54 PM) hey i was wondering, lets say i've got a dinner this sat and its gonna involve a lot of food, will it affect my progress? i've been on the high fats high protein low carb diet for a while now... should i lay off the high amount of fats prior to the dinner or should i just continue with my diet and take the dinner as a cheat meal and continue the diet the next day? I remember gleko saying either way, ur body will still burn the fat even ur resting provided you follow the low carb method. So, either way, it shouldn't have to be a harm having a cheat meal since its not really that big of an effect.

QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Jun 13 2008, 03:05 PM) yeap, i'm on my 4th day of my very low carb diet. Now feeling a bit weak. I will have my carb this saturday morning after joging and then saturday night also after joging. My carb for the morning will be nasi lemak with milo ais while for night will be nasi putih with chicken, egg and vege. Will this be ok... Fuyoh, nasi lemak weyh. Since ur taking milo ais also, i'd say shave the rice abit more, and take more eggs lah for sure. At night ok, just make sure the rice is still low and the other food qualities are high.

@bodybuilder, I think you are sleeping too late, but that's just an opinion. But shane is right on your preworkout. Milo is really a junk drink that you should just try something else. Go for milk, eggs, and oats. If you want to put Milo in the oats, the its alright. But don't just drink Milo no more alrite?

Btw, any one can recommend a purely vegan diet for bodybuilders? I mean, its just for a change rather than always looking at meats and eggs, including milk.

The artificial sweetener is called aspartame. Take too much of this and get ready for cancer.

Haha. True. Its like trying to compare Mother's Milk with powdered milk. We may debate the fact that powdered milk for babies is great cuz of nutrients and all.
but natural milk is the real deal, real health. Still, I wonder how raw cow's milk taste though. Don't really favor the vanilla taste on HL (that's what i feel tho).

QUOTE(Sp00kY @ Jul 11 2008, 02:22 PM) yeah u definitely need carbs as u need the str, just try to reduce the carbs throughout the day. Take carbs for pre-workout. Apple if not mistaken is lo/medium. Apple consist of lots of glycogen that serves an immediate carb. good for post workout when u need the energy for it. I take 2 at office before lunch though.

Same here. Haha. Importantly, we also notice growth on our muscles. The hard tummy can be killed another time.

I got a question though.
Say we bulk up. And then, when we're satisfied with the size we got, we decided to cut the quantity of each meal by half.
So, that would mean I'm toning and not bulking anymore now correct? I won't be losing my muscles provided I keep working out correct?

Have any of u found like a malaysian website that has bodybuilding recipes for our good use?
I checked bodybuilding.com, and I do like the food, its just that i think they use too many protein powder based on how i read (Even tho its better than drinking processed milk).

@pleasuresaurus, u might wanna consider tortilla wraps. Try making sumthing like KFC's Twister. The inside ingredients can vary, and the chicken can actually be cooked overnight and just a little reheat on the next morning. And dun buy the sandwiches, make ur own ones and pack to office. I wake up a little extra early to make sum sandwiches and am trying for tortilla wraps too. Making ur own food is always the best option.

QUOTE(pleasuresaurus @ Aug 5 2008, 02:39 PM) Tortilla wraps is a pretty good idea la bro, why didn't i think of that? . Bringing own food is a pretty good option. Problem was I'm so lazy I hardly bother waking up any earlier to fix up a meal hahaha. Usually just bring bread n tuna n dump 'em in the fridge at the ofis so i can make sandwiches at lunch. But thats really worth looking into la, the tortilla wraps. Could cook the chicken up the night b4 maybe, just dump it in the fridge n roll them up in the morning with sum vege. It even SOUNDS tastier hahaha. thanks mate! B4 going to work, try toasting the wrap first. it might not mean much if u put it back in the fridge, but u'll stick feel it to be a bit different. And remember, don't microwave.

I remember the calories is as stated. No more adding to things. And since oatmeal is a slow energy releasing carb, its evident that there's more carbs in it then fat. So based on how i understand this, a hi fat low carb diet shouldn't have to consist oatmeal correct?

QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Aug 13 2008, 02:07 PM) actually it stated on the carbonated can .. : Total carbohydrate - 6g -sugar - 6g Is this real. It is pretty much real, but the sugar intake is more than u need. Too much sugar causes ur body to pump out too much of insulin to regulate the activities in the body. When there's too much, sumthing will definitely go wrong. Google out on having too much insulin. Can't remember in detail the real full effect of having too much insulin at one go.
